Tips & Strategies
These are super helpful! I bring 4 with me when I go out to tame dinosaurs. Having multiple distracts what ever you want to tame while you hit it with tranq arrows. They also slow them down from running away just by being in the way.
Tamed my pachy on craggs island, called it slappy. They are quite slow but the charge adds some speed in short bursts, I charge until out of stam and them set him to follow while he gets stam back and charge again, knocked out a couple of dodos while charging.
Keep your distance if it hits you twice you will be knocked out!!
They are super good at knocking out
I would like to say for starters who doesn't have Bow you can also use wooden club and Tam it with any berry I recommend for using mejoberrys
if you see one you should absolutely tame it!!
here’s how
1. gather about 30 tintoberries
2.punch it until it’s out
3. feed the poor thing the tintos
4. wait for it to be tamed
5. enjoy your beastie
(i used this method and tamed two of them at the same time!!)
Pachycephalosaurus are small, slow dinosaurs that at first glance may seem lacking in the use department. However leveling one of these Cretaceous critters, especially a high level one, in Melee, Stamina and Health can turn them into the ultimate living taming mount only rivaled by a high Melee Mantis equipped with clubs, knocking out Parasaurs, Trikes, Dilos, Raptors, Pteras and more in one or two charge attacks that can down creatures far more quickly and efficiently then the average Beelzebufo or Pulmonoscorpius. Not only that but there eggs can be used to make the preferred kibble of the Paraceratherium. Meaning taming Pachys for eggs is also quite worthwhile
There spikes on their head are bigger then their brain
Hello. To tame this, I used a bola and then began to use a slingshot but you can use tranq arrows or darts. I am yet to craft a saddle for it but I have heard that it can knockout small/medium dinosaurs. Up this for the new players!
If you are like level one through five, I suggest you not do this really do some damage
Unless the patchy is a low level 1-3
Heh these suckers are really loyal. My pachy died a hero let me tell you how. One day I was looking for an otter but then a spino and a titanaboa started attacking me I killed the titanaboa and fell I couldn't move a few minutes later I see "your pachy has been killed by a spino" I was devastated I woke up and saw the spino unconscious I tammed it. I still have pach's hide in a storage box. R.I.P you valliant hero
They do attack you and are not that hard to kill just don't attack one near other ones or they all will attack you. They can kill you easily if you are low level or have no armor or weapons.
A level 27 spawned next to my base on the footpaw. Gonna tame it now
