These will NOT collect eggs laid by tamed dinos. It increases the rate at which they are laid but are still required to be manually picked up. I was under the impression they collected tamed Dino eggs if set to wander in a Dino pen. THEY DO NOT

Eggs in an Oviraptor’s inventory will never spoil. The timer literally stops. Just make sure their well fed so they don’t eat them.

Put points into melee. Makes their radius bigger for grabbing more eggs

Want a Kibble farm? Get one and set it on wander in an enclosed space with Kibble dinos nearby. This will give all nearby creatures an egg laying buff (I was so confused when this happened and all of my creatures had egg symbols , even the ones that didn't lay eggs lol) -The OrchidDragon 🐲

Level does not matter when it comes to just using them for egg farms and all that. Make sure to put on wandering in order for the effect to happen, put some wood, stone, etc. anything that doesn’t have a spoiling time so your oviraptor stays in the same place while it is still getting the effect.

As of the release of Ark Survival Ascended, the Oviraptor can now pick up fertilized and unfertilized eggs within it's pick up radius!

Stats have no impact on the egg buff, so get a low level one to safe time and eggs. The egg buff will only occure when the Oviraptor is set to wander, just fill it's inventory with junk to make it stationary. The buff does additionally not stack, so getting more than one only makes sense if you need to cover a bigger area.

The Oviraptor will eat meat once tamed and does not increase the chances for mutations or multiple hatchlings.

Since 12-21-23 now picks up underwater eggs!

Is this worth to tame?yes it is here i present to you oviraptor dont understimate its small size it can boost your dino egg production just let it to wonder put it on a box so it wont run away then get your dino and place it near the overaptor then in few weeks you already have lots of eggs

If your oviraptor is following you and you find and egg, walk over the egg, the ovi should start digging three times then it’ll pick up the egg.

Is your robbing mother wyverns, use an ovi to rob the nests and repeat this process.

These things are really useful for mass kibble production as they provide an egg buff. Also you should probably load em up with wood if you don't want them to move, unless you have a riduclous maze of Dino pens like me XD

Don’t try use these for actual egg gathering as it no longer exists in evolved, took me ages to figure out, it only gives the egg buff and that’s it

Yes the males give the egg boost also.

I think these should have random fertile eggs in their inventory that they stole when they were wild

In ASA, I like to keep at least 2 oviraptor at my base, 1 Low level Oviraptor that is weighed down with stones and put on wondering to give the egg laying buff, and a second, high level Oviraptor dedicated to Collecting eggs. I love the new buff that these guys got

Dino you need to tame for kibble farms. Easy way to keep them in place:fill their inventory with metal ingot and they’ll be encumbered. And female Dino’s that lay eggs in the area will have an egg laying buff.Tame a male of that Dino’s species and u have infinite eggs 4 kibble. Female Oviraptors even have egg laying buff!
