These guys are a must-have if you find yourself needing to clean out 0:00 spoil timer eggs from nests. If you set one of these on follow near an egg, it’ll steal it without any aggro. You can then take it out of its hands without worrying about 6 wyverns chasing you down for that insta-spoiled lvl 20 poison egg that no one will touch. Up if helpful!!

They're pretty easy to knock out, 1 tranq arrow should work. But I can never get enough eggs to tame one.

Since I can’t find ANY info on if eggs such as rock drake, wyvern, and magmasaurs do better than giga. I experimented. (For those saying why waste expensive eggs like this, try your hand at the crystal isle map. I have tamed wyverns before even seeing a giga, and if your server has rock drakes on you’ll have more of those eggs than any giga eggs due to them rarely even guarding the nest they lay in and laying eggs super quickly)

My findings: they do very little to tame and can ruin taming effectiveness. A giga egg full tamed where a wyvern and rock drake egg did 5%. However, I can say they work great for boas. Hope this helps.

If you've tamed a ovirapter be careful if you have a baby Dino because mine ate all my baby parrasaurs.

U can tame lower lvl ones and judt take parasaur eggs theres like 20 parasaurs in hervi island

Increases rate of unfertilized egg drop rate and has a chance of reducing the mating timer after a Dino lays a fertilized egg/gives birth.

They have a very low weight capacity! Watch how many eggs they have, if they run out - taming decreases and you've wasted your eggs!

These a EXCELLENT tames, because when their near female Dino’s the female lays an egg, so taming a female Rex or any other would be kind of smart.

For those in ark ultimate

The best way you can tame it without lots of eggs is by

Bringing around 4 medium sized eggs

And spend around 60 keys to speed up taming twice

Then congrats for the egg speeder

Tranquilizer then and then feed them eggs. The bigger the eggs, the more the Oviraptor in question shall love you!

Make sure you have enough eggs. I was at around 90% and I ran out eggs. #GETMOREEGGS

Lvl 3 Ovoraptor still took ~40 minutes, but only 4 Bronto eggs were used. The taming effectiveness was 85.7% (+1)

There perfect for stealing wyvern eggs

Tamed an average stat 150 for the heck of it and it came out with 453.9% melee damage... That's ark for you lmao

Oviraptors are an easy knockout tame, then feed it Rex eggs.

ATTENTION: THE HIGHER THE LVL OVIRAPTOR, THE FURTHER AWAY IT CAN PICK UP EGGS.

It is very important you breed for the highest lvl possible to get the max range with an oviraptor. It does NOT matter what stats are out into it. MELEE will do nothing! It’s the OVERALL LVL.

If you want to use your fist you need a bola to stand it in place
