A Twisted Tail

Book 1 Part 1

What would happen if Lynx’s father had never left his family to help the order of the wild? Join me my friends, as I, WhiteWinterTiger, twist the tails of my own stories.

“I’m sorry Shadow, but I can’t come with you” replied Rusty, Shadow gazed in shock. “But, we need as much help as we can get! You're one of the best fighters we know!” Rusty squinted his eyes as he looked at Shadow. “I have a family to protect, now, leave, before I’m forced to tear your pelt off” Rusty growled, Shadow sighed and ran into the woods, leaving them, forever. “W-what was that about daddy?” Lynx asked, nervous. “It was nothing Lynx. Lets finish dinner” he replied simply before sitting down. The four of them ate dinner in silence.

Lynx’s mother and father fought off the trike, although more were coming. Lynx could feel it, smell it, her brother could too. Two days, only two days after her father had rejected shadow, they came, the humans. “Rusty! Take the kids! Get them as far from here as possible!” Yelled their mother, Rusty grabbed the trike by the horns and thrust it down to the ground, it collapsed, dead, “I’m not leaving you!” He yelled. Their mother growled, “yes. You. Are!” Their mother tried to jump on top of Rusty but missed. Rusty looked into his mates eyes, he could see the sadness. Rusty turned to run toward his precious cubs. “Come on!” He shouted, Lynx and Flame followed. Rusty ran toward the swamp, Lynx and Flame on his heels. They heard a screech, but it was cut off. “mother” whimpered Flame, but none of them stopped. They trudged through the water, jumped through the rocks and trees, they were almost there. Flame realized that he and Lynx were ahead of their father, Flame turned around, so did Lynx.
