Taming and utilizing the otter

Chapter one: location

The otter in Ark ASA the Island map can be found in the northern part of the red woods, and major river ways. The spawn points make them hard to find, and since the otters are so tiny. There is a small spot in the swamp area where they spawn but recommend not going there since there could be kapros, sacros, and deinosuchus’s (if you have the mod). Theres also a small lake in the redwood towards the west where you can find them

Chapter two: taming

There’s two ways, an easy way and more difficult way. The easy way is you want to find it and you want to have an argentavis and catch it. It will be in your argie’s mouth and you would want to catch fish, preferably sabertooth salmon, (1.5x size is the best). Kill it and drag the body to the otter and feed it. The harder way is when you find it in the water. You just wanna kill fish and drag it towards it and feed it. It’s more difficult because you could lose sight of the otter, or it could die.

Chapter 3: Utilizes

One major utility is that it could regulate your body temperature. When you pick it up on your shoulder, it gives you heat and cold resistances. This could help you with longer expeditions and the north of the island. You can get better resistance if you increase their melee damage. Another utility is that it could hold more than one artifact at a time, unlike you and any other. You can put hats on it, which makes it look even cuter than it already is. Hopes this helps!!

These otters live near streams and rivers

Spawn in the two ponds with beavers and the river that connects them, if none are there kill everything in the area leave and come back.

Otters can protect you from cold climates drastically, they eat up all your depression and aren't hard to tame at all! Just catch some Sabertooth Salmon or Piranha and bring the corpse to the otter and feed it. There you have your very own cute little otter. But remember to Bola it so it doesn't run away first. About 2 just in case. Kill one and I'll find you on multiplayer...

If you see one early game, TAME IT! It's basically desert and fur armor mashed into one creature, (if you pick it up) you'll never have to worry about weather ever again!

Make sure to keep this creature on the ground when travelling in mobile cause they fall down automatically when you leave the game and enter again. Hope this hepled

You can incubate eggs with an otter. Just plop the egg on it

I am pretty sure they raise your temperature when you have them around you’re neck so you don’t freeze to death!

I accidentally killed an otter when I was roaming the swamp/redwoods area with a spino tranple. I feel really bad

In ark mobile, u can tame it with raw fish meat and raw prime fish meat.

Raw Prime fish meat is better

Can gather silica amd black pearls simultaneously. Sent mine to attach a fish, he got 1 silica pearl, 1 black pearl, and 4 fish meat.

I have tamed 6 of them so far, all found along the Redwoods beach and in the river. They are very small and look like small bearers underwater but are easy to spot on the beach. I've only ever encountered one at a time, and never in the same place. They are fairly easy to tame, just pike fish (I recommend using a high level pike- work smarter, not harder) and walk up to the otter with the fish. It will prompt you to feed the fish to the otter, he will make an animation, and the taming bar should show up at the bottom. Don't worry about losing taming effectiveness as you go around gathering more fish, I don't think I've noticed a problem yet. On an Official PVE server

A rex killed mines also a spino ganged up with the rex to kill him along with some raptors my heart was broken then I kill them with across mutated army of menaces I now kill all of those pieces of sh"t because they killed wilson
