I found an otter and then a compy attacked me and then my raptor went to kill it but the otter was beside it so I died I was so sad. R.I.P otter

I just tamed and otter and put a hat on him.

If you have soothing balm give that to the otter after you feed it it’s first time then use soothing balm and feed it again that’s how mine tamed at the second feed.

I recommend using it for carrying large loads of items because if you carry the otter (at least on switch) its inventory doesn't count to your weight.

On mobile, the best place to look for otters is that large river that runs near the redwoods. Otters also don’t require whole fish like the Dododex says, just regular fish Meat will do fine. I do recommend you pick them up and bring them to a safe location though. My otter, Honeybuns, only had a health stat of 48 when I first got her.

You can find them in the river in south zone 2

Otters are so useful for the ice biome. You can put on a full flak set then put on your otter too and you’ll not get cold.

I’ve seen some people say to put them on aggressive in a coel pool to get pearls, but in my experience it only works when you whistle them onto a target

IMPORTANT message for mobile ark players. The otter can't hold any artifacts in it's inventory like in the pc game. Up so more mobile players can avoid wasting their time taming it.

Some people take care of otters, a lot murder them, and most of them make my babies do LABOR. You can do those tasks yourself!It's simple! Just make sure you take good care of my babies, and I will take care of you. If you dont, let's just say its try end if the world for you.

These things are so weak that if they attack docile creatures, they won’t even notice and will let the otter just sit there and attack them until they die!

Mobile how 2 tame otter:

1: Fly around on pt

2: find an otter

3: kidnap

4: bring it in trap / base(?)

( don’t hit it if it’s thatch )

5: get fish meat / prime fish in hotbar

6: feed for 1-10 minutes

7: HAVE FUN!

(Also I would suggest having spare otters, they die pretty easily. I learnt it the hard way it didn’t take long to find more though only took about A FRICKING HOUR! But I think I found a spawn spot it’s near swamp and redwoods, hope you can find it, btw it’s best to breed them, you have a chance of getting twins / triplets I got twins on my first try, their both female :) gl!)

You can fly an argent into the skeleton dino waterfall cave on ragnarok (argents spawn on the cliff above that cave) and you can grab the precious bean in its beak and then kill fish to feed it without it running around. Only coelacanths and salmon spawn in the cave. Near the path between the mud hill and the metal plains on ragnarok there’s a lake full of coelacanths that you can use attack whistles for Pearl harvesting! Hope this helps.

These things are beyond useless on mobile except for the insulation.

Taming a otter is somewhat hard due to it swimming around and since you are very slow in water which makes it hard. Also because it's small and to hit the button to feed it (is passive tame only not a knock out tame). All you need to do is kill some fish and feed it to the otter. Then a couple of fish later you will have a cute little friend.
