Hi Dododex,

I’m on ARK Mobile, and tried to tame a Moschops. I had all the taming food listed, but none of the foods, were accepted as ‘Taming Food’. Next I tried berries and raw meat, including raw prime meat and raw prime fish meat, but none of them worked. Pleased it the up arrow so that Dododex can see!

Very good for early game harvesting and can hold its own against small predators eg Dilos and Piranhas. Can be hard or easy to tame depending on the taming speed multiplier. Not much utility outside of early game.

Kill it if it’s taming food isn’t dead simple.

You should never EVER tame one of these things, I once tamed it and I want it to attack a dodo or something, I don’t remember, but instead it ran off, and when I killed that creature, this idiot came back and started chewing on the dead body of the creature.

I got sooo lucky when taming a lvl 250 all I needed was Tinto berries THATS ALL I’m so #blessed.

Depending on the level and when you come up to it depends on what it eats. It will eat just about anything ranging from prime fish meat to berries to Giant Bee Honey. It’s a passive tame and might take a while so don’t stray too far!

If your trying to kill them have a bola and a spear

You can ride them. the gather rating here on thatch is underrated, I had a 150 and gathered so much thatch with it over encumbered me in less than 10 minutes may have been over 50k thatch in 10 minutes.

For Some while now these can be used as mounts, not that they are fast or any useful, but it can be a very good early game escape mount. And they don’t require saddle

You can now ride Moschops and you don't even need a saddle. They are fairly quick and can attack only when mounted.

Accidentally tamed a lvl 50 one with 1000+ melee and it got killed by a lvl 4 spino because of the high amount of knockback

I fed a level 50 one with a mejoberry and this beast killed trokes with one hit

You can tame it by knocking it out, too. A bola helps. A LOT.

So for low levels, just scout the beach till you find a Moschops that eats Mejoberrys. Tame it, and it will for ever be your friend (except if you ar attacking a Dino).

The moschops is a good first mount as it is rideable without a saddle. While not nearly as fast as a raptor or anything else for that matter, it is still a good first mount for gathering and transportation in general.

It is now rideable and gathers a lot of fibre!

When on its radial upgrade menu, (for polymer, prime meat, leech blood ect), while hovering over the correct upgrade, press your attack buton repeadelty, (RT for Xbox), to dump all points into that one category.

Tintoberries can them to that is how I tamed it

What it takes to tame these things has changed. We tamed a 135 and it asked for cooked prime meat and tintoberries.
