Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a mosasaurus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a mosasaurus.
New big tip guys, ple.ase u.p s.o can see!
In Fjordur you can gather runes from these alphas alot, you can get a Tusoteuthis and grab the alpha Mosasauras and get up from their cave and then let it go next to beach then get your giga and finish in a couple of seconds and enjoy your runes baby😂
Be careful taming these on fjordur. They can only be found in a cave in fjordur and theres a TON of them there... and you cant use their depth border trick in the cave...
When you are taming the mosasaur there is a cave underwater somewhere at an underwater explorer note on the island with lots of oil and silica pearls it has an air pocket as well so you can tame a mosasaur but you can tame plesiosaurs there to
Want to tame a Coelecanth | 100x? Look over here! Before we start, let's begin!
TAMING REQUIREMENTS:
-Taming Food (Kibble/ Meat, Soothing Balm if on Mobile)
NOTE: Mosas prefer meat of the raw category over fish (You can use mutton too).
-Knockout Weapon (Crossbow (Tranq/ Toxicant Arrows), Longneck (Tranq/ Shocking Tranq Darts) )
-Scuba Gear (Not needed but must follow method 2 if not worn)
-Narcotics/ Biotoxin
-Water Mount (Ichthy recommended)
Now, you're ready!
So, I would use these 3 methods for Mosas. Make sure to follow Method 2 if you did not bring scuba gear!
Method 1: TRAP
This method can be done by constructing a Argentavis trap (2 behemoth dino gateway, 2 dino gateway, 2 behemoth dino gate) and a small water mount (Recommended Ichthy) is required. Place the 2 normal gateways in a vertical position and add the Behemoth Gates to each side. Put both gates on both gateways on close off one side. Next, lure the Mosa in and swim out the gaps in between each gate with your mount. Quickly close off the opened side and boom! The Mosa is trapped. Begin the taming process and tame. Make sure to keep an eye on the torpor and feed it your narcotics/ biotoxin regularly, as it drains super fast!
Method 2: No Scuba Method
This method might be a little bit more tedious but it is very worth it as the method is extremely cheap without the need for gates and scuba. Get on your mount and lure the Mosa to a underwater RESOURCE cave, not the ARTIFACT caves. Lure it into the entrance and it should be stuck. Just shoot down the Mosa and go back up to the cave if you run low on Oxygen. Make sure to watch out when the Mosa torpor runs as it runs quite fast! After you have your Mosa knocked out, begin the taming process and welcome a new tame to your aquatic tame collection!
Method 3: The Cheaper Method
This method still requires scuba, but it does not require luring Mosas to caves. Wild Mosas have a certain limit they cannot swim across. Find that limit and park your mount above it. Swim under the limit to aggro and tranq and swim above the limit to de-aggro. Repeat this process and knock it out and tame!
Now that you have a Mosa, let's take a look at it:
Mosas are strong and tanky aquatic mounts, not to mention the decent speed. Their saddle is unlocked at 78. However, they have a platform saddle that is unlocke at 93. The normal saddle is pretty cheap for that level. The Mosa does not have any secondary attacks that I know of, only one downside which is that they are prone to electrocution effects, making it an unviable option for caves. However, they are great for underwater drop runs (Not in caves ofc), but be wary of the occasional electrocution.
That's all I had for this tip. Make sure to check out my other tips!

-Your average ARK Mobile player :))
as if the huge amount of torpor needed to knock it out wasn't enough, its preferred kible is the quetzal one... how convenient
Does any one know if a level 270 can b tamed found one in the northwest artifact cave wondering if I'm wasting my time btw you can trap these guys just like arges with reinforced behemoth gates 5-6 and 2 gates at the ends should do nicely
If u tame a tuso just pick it up bring it to shore and shoot it with darts
In my opinion Barrys, kapros, sarcos are the best way to tame these guys. As you can pull out weapons while mounted you can sit there above the mosa’s height limit and shoot it without having to dismount. This also works for plesiosaurs
When I was going to tame a giant sqiud I seen a level 513 on console but when I knocked it out it didn't let me tame it I was so sad😭
Grab with squid and drag to surface for easy tranq darting and tame out. I use abandoned island beside skull on Center
The mosasaur is without a doubt the hardest dinosaur to knock out in the game, hits will only register when very close to it. The easiest way to knock it out without getting it stuck, is to aggrieved it and bring it as far up as it can go, and then continuously lead it up there, it won't attack you at that point and you can tranq it pretty easily
Just Tame A Tusoteuthis And Drag It Up To The Surface Cause If Not Je Will Continue To Attack But Once You Get Him Up Above There Spawn Hight He Will No Longer Attack But If You Let Him Go He Will Swim Down To The Bottom Of The Sea And Yes This Method Takes Longer Than A Harpoon Gun With Tranqa It Is Safer And Is Not As Exspinsive. I Hope This Helped You Out :)
Make it chase you into the underwater cave where it will get stuck at the entrance, then light it up with tranq darts or arrows or watever you use. Make sure to bring some kind of prime meat, and plenty of narcotics.
I always see people making comments about the Mosa’s size, they always say it should be bigger but i think wildcard made it like that on purpose. The mosasaur wasn’t all that big in real life and would likely get beat up by a meg.
It took me 4 quetzal kibble with a 10times soothing balm to tame a level 140 when the dododex said it would take 7 kibble
For every one who wants to tame a mosasaures today I am going to share my nolage first of all Mosquera are so hard to tame because they are very hard to find even if you did find one they tend to despawn vey quickly so I recommend you search for one and get your gear to tame as soon as you find the Mosquera another thing is that there torper is very high so it will take more dart or tranq arrows to tame at least 2 hundred or so I recommend useing scuba gear because I tried to tame one with out scuba gear and I payed the price I lost a level 5 mosa wild not any mosa a level 5 albino mosa my favorite color in mosa albino is also a great color for Tex saddles I play on ark mobile by the way many mosas can be found near plant island usually a albino mosa spawns but not all the time sometime green mosas in land green mosas color is gold there is also a black veryation in the mosa
I tamed this boi with cooked fish meat..and I regret setting it on wander and aggressive bc I lost him and the next day I found him with his inv full of raw and prime and fish meat so I just let him stay by my base and a fooking lvl 90 dodo just got devoured by him and I lost him due to him flying and he flew back to the ocean ;-; (btw he is a level 110)
how to tame mosa:
1. K I L L I T
2. take its implant
3. place a revival platform in water
4. block off any exits to ur revival platform in water
5. revive the mosa using weird doohicky magic and crap
6. knock it out while u laugh that it cant aggro on u bc it's in shallow water
7. tame it or whatever
8. (u might need to request ur mosa into the ocean bc it probably will get stuck in shallow water)
(ark mobile) for some reason it only took 1 kibble to tame with 15x balm and once it was tamed i checked on its inventory and it ate all of the kibble (level 300 mosa)
Taming the giga is a walk in the park compared to this
