(MOBILE) Want an easy, very risk free and extremely fast way of knocking out one?

(I assume you said yes).

1. Get a speedy water mount, preferably a ichthy

2. Find your desired mosasaur

3. Find nearby ammonites.

4. Trigger ammonite rage

5. Get the mosasaur aggro’d on to you

6. Lead the mosasaur to shore, when you have rage, mosasaurs completely ignore their depth limits. If rage runs out, get rage again and continue from where you left off.

7. Once the mosasaur is near shore and very high up, essentially next the beach, lose your aggro on it by waiting for the rage to run out. Just make sure the mosasaur doesn’t leave the beach area.

8. The mosasaur is now stuck there, he cannot attack nor move because his pathfinding is broken and he cannot calculate where to go.

9. Knock out and tame your mosasaurus, should be hard to do either because you’re at the beach and the mosasaur can’t move.

10. Up this strategy because it’s easy and effective.

TIPP: Easy Taming

The Mosasaurus is a deepsea creature, that means you can easily knock him out with this Trick. (you should use a basilosaurus because of his health and the immunity effects)

1) Swimm down to the deepsea

2) Let the Mosa follow you up

3) If you swimm high enought he will stop chasing you

4) When he Stops chasing you, just shoot at him with tranqs (the higher your Crossbow damage the faster he gets knocked)

5) Repeat the first steps if he swimms too far away from you

6) knock him out and feed him some Quetzal Kibbel

7) Enjoy your Aquatic Giant

BONUS TIPP: He spawn around the carno Island and i would recommend to not go too far from your basilosaurus while shooting the Mosa Because you are f*cked if some eals appear and you cant mount your Basilo to kill them (He is immune to the Shocking effect)

How to tame a Mosa!

8/10 Difficulty

First, let’s prepare!

Things Needed: Crossbow (Tranq arrow) or harpoon launcher (Tranq harpoon), trap materials (If using trapping method), itchy or tusotuethis (Depending on KO method), LOTS of narcotics or biotoxin (You can get biotoxin from the jellyfish when you knock it out so you don’t need to bring some immediately.

4 Methods

Method 1 - Trapping

Trap materials: 6x behemoth stone gateway, 2x behemoth gate.

Place the 6 gateways in a line somewhat far apart, make sure a Megalodon can fit through the gap. Then place the gates on each end of the trap, leaving one gate open and the other closed.

Recommended mount: Itchy as they are fast, but I would recommend putting points into health and speed

Find the mosa and get it to aggro on you. Now make it follow you into the open gateway in the trap. Swim out one of the gaps in the gates and then quickly close the open door.

Now shoot it with your tranq ammo of choice (Crossbow, Harpoon Launcher) until it’s kncked out.

Method 2 - Safari Style 1

Recommended mount: Itchy as you can shoot while riding it. Still put points into health and speed.

Find mosa and swim around it, following behind it while shooting it so you don’t get attacked. Repeat until KO’d.

Method 3 - Safari Style 2

Recommended mount: Itchy as you can shoot while riding it. Still put points into health and speed.

Shoot the mosa a couple times to aggro then swim up to the depth limit that the mosa can go. It can only swim up to a certain height until it starts to swim back down. While it swims back down shoot it until out of range then repeat until knocked out.

Method 4 - Tuso

Recommended mount: Tuso

Grab mosa with Tuso then dismount and shoot it. The Tuso will deal torpor with its ability while you shoot until it’s knocked out.

Utilities

The mosa is the Giga of the sea. It’s is very powerful and can be equipped with a platform saddle. If it goes above a certain depth it will start taking damage.

Center tip: as they have added the mosa to the center I've found the easiest way to knock one out is find one close to the bubbles get its Agro and swim in the bubble the mosa will get stuck and it can't hit you. Also this gives you unlimited oxygen and sanctuary from being attacked by anything else. 🤘🏼

I tamed this guy with raw fish meat and it took at least seven ark days

These can be tamed by aggroing them and swimming upwards. There is a height barrier which they cannot cross and so you can tranq them with a crossbow from above that invisible barrier.

Water giga, carries base, need I say more

If you have 300+ oxygen they are relatively easy. Take advantage of their bad turn radius and stick close to their tail to KO.

DONT FIGHT JELLYFISH WITH THESE I made this mistake and my 261 mosa died.

i tamed a lvl 145 x mosa with 600 arrows and 6.5 crossbows today

There is an option near the tranqs to switch to an x mosa. The new updates on here are freaking amazing, so don’t forget to utilize that for x mosa/any x creature taming :3

Underwater caves are very helpful for knocking these guys out. Always bring extra tranqs as this thing is basically the giga of the sea and torpor drops very fast.

On mobile they can be found in deep water around carno island herb island and artic ocean then you pretty much need a water mount dolphins plesiosaur’s or megladons are recommended and you need sucba gear or else you will drown they have a shallow limit so tranq it and it will chase you untill shallow limit then it will not go shallower if it swims back down do the same thing agian keep doing this until it’s knocked out then prime fish works best but normal prime meat will work too and bring around 300 or 400 bio toxin or narcotics depending what level it is then wait a bit and done congrats

Alr lets start!

For Mobile:

Step 1: Find the Mosasaur (Mosas are found deep under the sea, they are uncommon in the Red Obelisk sea's)

Step 2: If you find your self a high lvl mosa then get ready (Make sure your mount has good turning radius like a Megalodon since they have a little good turning radius)

Step 3: KO your underwater Giga! (Like a plesio Mosas stay bellow since they have a height limit so if you go up its height limit then it wont attack you, just make sure no Electrophpurus or Angler and Megalodons and Jelly-Fish come in your way)

Step 4: Once everything is cleared and your mosa is KO"d feed it Quetz Kibble and put the bio or narcotics in its inventory. (Fact about ARK: Quetzals are the easiest creatures to farm)

Step 5: Just wait and keep clearing the area when more enemies come.

Wohoo!!! You tamed a mosasaur 🐋🐳🥳🥳!

Now lets start with its abilities! It has only 2 abilities! Which is sad but still cool!

TEK SADDLE ABILITY:

ABILITY 1-The Mosa can shoot underwater plasma guns just like every creature in ARK that has a TEK Saddle. (Sadly this only works on PC and consle not in mobile :'( )

PLATFORM SADDLE ABILITY

ABILITY 2-You can build a small base on its back or create a underwater fortress to make it rule the seas in PVP

Now for the Disabilities when wild and tamed! It has 2!

Disability 1 (WILD)- The mosa has a height limit now i know this is cool but for the mosa its not lol.

Disability 2 (TAMED)- Even if the mosa has good Melee, Stam, And HP It has bad turning radius which means anglers and electrophourus and Jellyfish and megalodons go in its belly and tail so it wont attack the opponents its also same with plesio.

There are few ways to tame this sea giga. Let me explain them all:

1. Just damn battling: Get a fast water mount and literally kite Mosa as you smack its face with your torpor weapon.

2. Trapping: You need to create a trap like a cell. Get a Benemoth dino gateway and a gate, some foundations, and pillars that Mosa can’t go through. Make it follow you into the cage, then get out from the gap that pillars created and shut the door. After that, knock it out and feed it.

3. (and also my favorite) Ammonite Strategy:

Punch an ammonite. It will give you the rage debuff and every creature will chase you down, including the Mosasaurus. So the Mosasaur has a limit on depth. What i mean is that it can’t go higher than a set limit, since it’s a deepsea creature. But when the rage is on, it will ignore the limit and follow you even to shallows. Get out of the water and wait until your rage wears off. The Mosasaur won’t be able to move since it has broken it’s limits and can’t go back. Hit it with your torpor weapon and knock it out.

4. Going Up and Down:

As i mentioned earlier, the Mosasaur has a set limit on depth. Hit the Mosasaur, then let it swim up to you, of course swim away whilst doing that, also hit it while you’re swimming away. After it has reached the limits, it will stop chasing you. When it does, go deeper and hit it again. Go this couple of times until it gets knocked out.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Don’t forget to kill the surrounding creatures like Plesiosaurs, Tusos, Electropus and Anglers since it can attack you and ruin the taming.

Besides the giga this is the hardest dinosaur to tame, note you will need a lot of narcotics and food. Before you begin the tame I recommend at least 2 to 3 full scuba suits for obvious reasons. You need to have at least a Ichthyosaurs or Megalodon, so you can actually move around and find a decent one. Once you find one you want to tame simply start shooting at it with the crossbow. Now right when you get his attention swim up, you should notice the Mosasaurs stops following you after a certain height. The Mosasurs cannot go higher than wherever it stopped. So simply park your water Dino above it and keep shooting it. If it runs off keep doing the same thing over and over again. Sooner or later you will take him down. Good job! Then simply use this app to figure out how many narcotics/food you will need to tame it. Once it is done enjoy your king of the water.

All mosasaurs have a certain depth limit. If you find a mosasaur, lure it to a cliff side and let it get close, once it’s near you but not in bite range etc, start going up the cliff side until it loses agro. Once you find the sweet spot and the mosasaur loses agro, go down a bit to get in the depth limit range to re agro the mosasaur. It can’t attack you if you are just out of the depth limit range etc then start shooting it to knock it out. Just beware of other nasties 👌
