You can chase it to open waters and tame it underwater as they are slow swimmers(I did this).

Okay so, basically the easiest way to tame these cute little guys are to keep your distance and make sure they don't face you. Put Mejoberries into the last slot of the hot bar and quickly run up every now and then, feed it, and then run back to a safe distance. It can be tricky but patience is key. Also, if you are a high enough level, dodo kibble can be used instead, if you wear a ghillie suit it has a lower chance of noticing you.

How to tame a mesopithicus in ark mobile

1. Equip berries in your hotbar slot. ( tintoberries and mejoberries are recommended. )

2. crouch from behind them and click the berry they want. Make sure you don't go too close or else they'll run away from you. Continue the process and follow the cutie!

3. Equip them and put them on your shoulder. If something is attacking you it will throw poop at it. Once it throws poop, it will slow down the target for sometime and it will slowly lose health.

Here is an easy way to tame it and any other smaller creatures...

1. Make 4 small crate

2. Shoot tranq 1 is enough

3. Place crate around the preferred creature

4. Wait for it to wake lie down and fees.

Trust me it's waaay more easier like for new update on ark mobile

Pick them with bird then drop them in your base to tame them

Took me 9 Dodo kibble to tame... I didn't have the 1.5 taming or anything else... I have 1 taming so use 9 dodo kibble not 8
