They can’t carry tames on mobile

Fatal here again today I'll be talking about this nocturnal beauty

What it's good for

1. Boosting riders increased movement speed and attack power

2. Tanky mid-to-late game combat

3. Clearing caves and clearing dino spawns more efficiently

4. Gathering moderate resources without switching creatures

5. Pickup can pick up dinosaurs

6. Great for boss fights if leveled properly

What it's not good for

1. Long distance travel stam drains, speed is ok

2. Stealth or ambush situation (too big and loud)

3. Early-game taming (you'll need strong tames to even knock it out safely

Player 2: should I get one?

Yes. The megalosaur is a mid-to-late game powerhouse. It's boosted ability makes it perfect for combat and travel when paired with a strong rider. Not only the best early-game starter, but once tamed, it dominates PVE and PVP alike

They get a buff at night

If a creature or player becomes bugged out in its mouth (i accidentally grabbed a player and a pter in one bite, refused to drop the pter) simply tranq whatever it is holding to sleep, it will drop it.

Probably the easiest apex creature to tame on abberation. It is much stronger than the spino at the cost of being vulnerable to more creatures.

Megalosaurus is best Dino but if you want to tame make trap and trap it there good for boss fight we tamed lvl110 on switch aberration it takes with 5700hp and 275% damage. I just got app so sorry if this doesn’t help.

Imo one of the hardest tames in Ark, especially on the island (he is 3 times on the map to the same time and possible spawns are upper and lower south cave, central cave, carno cave and lava cave and he is very hard to see because he sleeps during the day)…but he is really worth every second of taming, my personally favorite…

If you find one be prepared that you just get him out of 2 caves on the island (lower south and central cave or you tame 2 in the others and breed an egg) or maybe through glitches

For fighting: knock him out when night starts, sounds stupid because he is much stronger then…but if you use a grappling hook on he spot where he can’t attack you…you can knock him out easily...the good thing is that he sleeps through the morning till it gets night again, so he won’t wake up that fast and maybe you just need to shoot him down for one time...but if you knock him out during day, be prepared to knock him out again when it becomes night again…good luck survivor! :-)

These creatures are my FAVORITE! Like they are just one of my main Dino’s. They are also the only creatures that can sleep on ark mobile. I’m very proud of ark mobile because I’m so glad that these are easy to tame AND are on caves. If they were on dungeons I would cry. I hope this is helpful. Stay rage at night my friend!🌕

[ASE tip] Unridden megalosaurus do not use their biting attack. Instead, they will constantly use their grab attack, which is unaffected by melee damage increases. Therefore, they are very suboptimal when unridden, so spinos might be a better choice against Rockwell.

On ASA, normal Megalosaurus now always have the night buff on Aberration and won’t need any sleep

Do you think these things will be great in lost colony or am I the only one who thinks that if so, please explain why they won’t be

Just eat some shadow steak(to see clearly at dark)then u and ur Megalosaurus will be hero of Gotham but on ark.like batman and robin

The Megalosaurus is very good for fighting the Dragon, possible better than the Therizinosaurs, when you bring them to the Dragon fight, they don't get attacked by the dragon, the dragon only locks onto, allowing them to deal damage without dying, to do this properly I would suggest riding a tanky Therizinosaur just in case and bring 19 megalosauruses (or 18 if you want a Yutyrannus, just make sure the Yutyrannus is following your Therizinosaur while on passive with "ignore whistles" activated) you could even do alpha dragon with megalosauruses if they're strong enough (NOTE: MAKE SURE IT IS NIGHT TIME WHEN YOU SUMMON THE DRAGON OR THE MEGALOSAURUSES WILL TICKLE HIM)

Planning to beat bosses with only these.

So I play mobile single player pretty exclusively, which means I have NO use for a megalo. After playing for a while, I’ve found I’m not happy unless I have one of these things sleeping on my floor. I’m sure they’re useful for night raids, but again, I don’t do that. Have to be honest though, if you decide to ride it around at night, you’ll realize absolutely nothing attacks you or even runs away

Megalos are soooooooo good on Ab because they never have to sleep so they are beasts

Be wary that the Megalosaurus received a major nerf in the form of the latest raptor TLC. Raptors can now dismount Megalosaurus riders and seem to attack them on sight. Megalosaurus often use their grab attack while the raptor will still have you pinned even while it is in the Megalosaurs mouth. The raptors allies will then proceed to eat you and then kill you in that order.

Higher melee than a Rex but sleeps during daylight best thing to do is use it at night in the day it sleeps and when you wake it up it is slow and will eventually force its self asleep

You can pick up Megalosaurus using Quetzal in Mobile as long as they are awake (idk if the same works in PC or Console)
