Is anyone else having trouble taming these things on Lost Island? They won't eat raw meat or prime meat. Seems like they only eat mutton

Tame them during the day or else they will wake up instantly

Lure in 3x3 stone trap with 2 high stone doorframes and knockout with boomerang make sure you don’t get close even if it’s in the trap it can still grab you and even if you get out of it’s jaws you fall in the cage you made with 2hp and die

When taming a Megalosaurus make sure you knock it our first thing in the morning. Do not put Raw meat or Kibble on it inventory right away (let it starve). If you plan to tame a high lvl one make a trap for it and let it starve all day. They wake up at night. No matter how much narcotics you put on this creation it WILL wake up. Do not attack it, wait for it to be day time. Get it unconscious again and wait again for it to starve. Once you reache your starving goal feed it before it gets dark again. Taming isn't hard if you have the time and patience for it. The Megalosaurus sleeps all day and wakes up at night. Have fun taming one!

Find one sleeping, tranq it, run, tranq again until unconscious. I totally thought mine was going to wake up once the sun set, and I was about to pee myself when it didn’t wake up. They’re not hard to tame… it’s just scary to go in caves.

1. Find one sleeping in the daytime

2. Go take about 50 tranqs and a crossbow

3. Shoot it, run for a bit, shoot it again (must be dine in daytime, they are a lot slower, don't get too close, it will pick you up and then there won't be any escape)

4. Let it lay unconscious til the next day and get some prime meat/mutton (don't come at night, it wakes up even if it was unconscious)

5. Knock it out again

6. Put the meat in its inventory, many hunger will be gone and it will tame realy fast.

7. Enjoy your night tame (I used this strategy to tame my 130, its bite did about 350 points of damage and had 6000 health, really good to farm leather, meat and carry small animals)

Always tame at day ! It’s easier in day than night 🤓!

How to tame Megalosaurus(Mobile)(You could try this on pc and console I guess)

1.Be sure that the time of day you are taming this dinosaur is day, Megalosaurus are nocturnal and will gas(sprint)on you when they find you, when day, they are slow.

2.Load a crossbow with tranq arrows.

3. Get raw prime meat and raw meat.

4.Go to the Central Cave.

5.Attempt to avoid all giant insects, Onycs and Titanoboas.

6.If you see something lying down, that’s the megalo.

7.Shoot tranq arrows at Megalo.

8.When megalo falls down, immediately put meats in inventory.

9.While waiting, I recommend you hunting the other giant critters, just avoid arthropleuras. Hunt titanoboas and other insects.

10.When megalo is awake after taming it, you have tamed the rare megalosaurus!

Useful tip for everyone: Ark’s day and night cycle is 1 hour in real life (on normal settings).

That means if you shoot the dinosaur right out at 8:30 p.m., it will wake up in real time in one hour at 8:30 p.m. the next day. For each past hour you have to subtract 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Example: you knocked him out at 10:30 p.m. -> he will wake up in 60 minutes - 2,5 - 2,5 = 55 minutes

At level 26, it is the first time that the Megalosaurus needs more than an hour to be tamed.. So be prepared to knock him out twice or three times

DO NOT TAME CLOSE TO NIGHT TIME! We knocked this guy out with tranq arrows in the early afternoon of the game. He was about a third of the way tamed and had only lost 10 points of consciousness - when he stood up! Legitimately got up and decided to chow down on my Parasaur like it was a chew toy!?!? He woke up and chose violence- he was not going to be tamed today.

Scared the literal crap out of me.

Super over powered and under rated, since I play on ark mobile ultimate edition these things can be found in lots of places on extiction.when taming one remember they wake up, but you should try taming From: Ant the Dino man

I play on mobile, And I will give advice for mobile players. Megalosaurus spawns in caves. He wakes up at 20:30 game time. You need to tame him after 20:30.Otherwise, he will wake up and all taming progress will be reset.

If you are playing on Ragnarok try to find Megalosaur in/nearby viking bay and in jungle nearby viking bay

Sorry for this not being much of a tip, but this IS useful for some people to know. The megalosaurus is virtually useless during the day, and is a decent mount when not burdened by debuffs, so don't spend your time trying to tame one unless you really need a mount that won't always be usable. I tamed one and barely use it for those reasons, it just isn't always convenient.

you can find them at the cave of "artifact of the clever" they are sleepibg inside and when prepared well you can easily tame one

The aberrant versions of this dino require a lot more tranqs than the regular one, took like 15-20 arrows with a 198 damage crossbow to knock out a level 130 aberrant.

They look cute ,when they are sleeping.

Knock them out early morning (game time), they are very slow and won't wake up during taming process.In Ragnarok there is a mountain cave between lava biom and Viking bay. You can find them there .fly through sea area the cave will be easily spotted .

I’m on mobile and the mega did not auto-wake at 20:30. Wasn’t sure if they took this out of mobile, is a glitch, or what it is, but I had bad anxiety expecting it to get up at any moment.

These things are op for getting rock drake eggs they cant take any radiation damage and do alot of damage so if i were you i would tame one of these guys.

In ark mobile they don’t wake up at night while you are taming it up so noobs can see
