First one I ever saw was a lvl 20ish in Hunter Cave. Wiki does not reflect that as a spawn zone.

You can find these in cave under volcano they are sleeping in cave, yeah sleeping you can go past them they don't get up until you hit em

Don't use the Megalosaurus as Boss Dino. Unridden, they make 90% less damage!

When raising one from an egg it is best to have it on follow that way when you're feeding it it will not sleep it will go unconscious but you can continue to feed it while it's unconscious and when it wakes up it repeats the whole process over again because if it falls asleep and you feed it you'll notice your food goes down so fast this is my best way to raise a BABY

If you make the best mutations for meg alo, it might do even more then syntac's perfect thylacaleo, misteque, (sorry if I spelled it wrong,) so it's recommended to start mutating yo Megs.

Remember that it has to go to sleep from time to time so don’t go into a raid or massive fight with it until you check the time when it needs to sleep you can let it sleep whenever you want so you don’t have to always wait for the timer

On ark mobile you can only find them in the middle chamber and maybe dungeons

Fun fact: for all the admins in mobile, if you level something up ~* While it's unconscious and you have put food in it *~ The dino will start eating automatically (works for everything)

[ASE tip] Unridden megalosaurus do not use their biting attack. Instead, they will constantly use their grab attack, which is unaffected by melee damage increases. Therefore, they are very suboptimal when unridden, so spinos might be a better choice against Rockwell.

They can’t carry tames on mobile

If a creature or player becomes bugged out in its mouth (i accidentally grabbed a player and a pter in one bite, refused to drop the pter) simply tranq whatever it is holding to sleep, it will drop it.

Starve it because it will wake up when it turns night and you will have to knock it out again, but it's food will still decline like it was when you first knocked it out.

On mobile it only takes 3-6 tranq darts to knock it out

I may be a bit late in submitting this tip, but if the Megalosaurus wakes up from torpor-inflicted sleep, the taming progress does not disappear. However, if you do not knock it out quick enough the taning effectiveness drops very quickly once it has actually been knocked out a second time, so bring taming food immediately before knockout (maybe when it's torpor running). Also, don't use sanguine until food is in it's inventory for the second knockout as the 30% drops very quickly

Probably the easiest apex creature to tame on abberation. It is much stronger than the spino at the cost of being vulnerable to more creatures.
