Encounter at night? RUN

Is anyone else having trouble taming these things on Lost Island? They won't eat raw meat or prime meat. Seems like they only eat mutton

They are better than both rexes and spinos they have about 300 health more than a spino and deal more damage than a Rex and can level up quite a bit faster than these two… they are also much smaller than the rexes and the spinos so they can fit trough smaller gaps. They are also significantly faster than a Rex but are hard to obtain but as soon as you have both a male and a female you can start mating. They also have a reasonable attack speed and can grab smaller dinos to stop them from attacking you. Their damage is even comparable to that of a spino on two legs but don’t attack as fast. If you can’t decide between spinos or rexes to build an army just use megalosaurus they are overall better, just you need to fight the bosses at night or the megalosaurus will be tired and sleep, letting the boss get the first hit

If it picks up your tame like a ravager it does not care about the saddles armour rating it will do massive damage while your tame is in its jaws, lost my full hp ravager with 125 armour saddle and 1100 hp in seconds to a level 25 mega

Incase nobody told you, this guy will grab your argy right out of the air, knocking you off the bird, then proceed to eat your bird in front of you. Un-bothered. Reason #1 to always pack ammo. Hind sight.

When out at night, be sure to take this with a raft or quetzal with platform, so when it is tired, you can get it back to base without it being attacked. Just a tip to ensure that your prized Megalosaurus doesn't die whilst you are out.

These are no joke a level 15 killed my 240 wolf in well under a minute, use extreme caution when around them

Just so everyone on mobile knows megalos spawn in the middle chamber cave I found out the hard way after falling on one.

Extremely good for night raiding, if of course you manage to find one AND tame it

Tame them during the day or else they will wake up instantly

Unmounted Megalosaurus 90% of times use their secondary attack! This bug has not been fixed yet!

Don’t wake it up but if you do, use a pistol or assault rifle and shoot it in the face

(Ark mobile) They can be found in the cave to the east of the volcano around loc 40, 46 ish. I just found one past the first set of bugs and snakes. All curled up.

Lure in 3x3 stone trap with 2 high stone doorframes and knockout with boomerang make sure you don’t get close even if it’s in the trap it can still grab you and even if you get out of it’s jaws you fall in the cage you made with 2hp and die

they can pick up flyers, i guess its good for pvp

They are at night really good and have a buff but on Day they have to sleep. When u ride them on Day they will lose stamina and torpor is growing fast.

If paired with night vision googles, it makes an excellent raiding mount. Super strong and can carry other tames.

When taming a Megalosaurus make sure you knock it our first thing in the morning. Do not put Raw meat or Kibble on it inventory right away (let it starve). If you plan to tame a high lvl one make a trap for it and let it starve all day. They wake up at night. No matter how much narcotics you put on this creation it WILL wake up. Do not attack it, wait for it to be day time. Get it unconscious again and wait again for it to starve. Once you reache your starving goal feed it before it gets dark again. Taming isn't hard if you have the time and patience for it. The Megalosaurus sleeps all day and wakes up at night. Have fun taming one!

Find one sleeping, tranq it, run, tranq again until unconscious. I totally thought mine was going to wake up once the sun set, and I was about to pee myself when it didn’t wake up. They’re not hard to tame… it’s just scary to go in caves.
