I had my icthy and my meg killed by these by 5 wild megs. The moral? Don’t have your tames on neutral

For anyone complainig about the size and power of this thing, read the dossier. It says that this creature isn't the megalodon we know and doesn't exist in the real world. Also why is no one complaining how rex hunts creatures, because likely it only ate corpses and never actually hunted.

Bow take your dino, lure it from top and you get out from the side without walls. Shark is slow and clumsy so you have time to return on too to close gate

Net gun it then tranq arrow repeat, then bam it's out. Took me 2 nets while floating over the water on a bloodstalker shooting it with a longneck

To everyone saying you can't catch it with a fish trapper boat, you couldn't be more wrong, you just have to do a underwater version of quetz trappers

I tamed a meg so that I could kill the rays around a basilo. Worked perfectly. 10/10 would tame again.

The megalodon is one of the easiest tames in ARK.

Simply use a crossbow with tranq arrows, and swim at it while strafing left or right. The megalodon, like most large underwater creatures, has a horrible turn radius, which is very easy to get inside of. Just tranq it till it runs, than tranq it till it stops. If your having trouble with this tactic, boost your speed or wear scuba flippers.

These things have weird taste on chasing you in Mobile. When you don’t care about them and do something else, they do one of 2 things: Not giving a hell and allowing the player to hit it for fun, chasing you down a kilometer away. Their food choices are simple too: Low HP players with stress and despair.

Herbivore island usually has megaladons in the bay

I tamed this with a ramshackle slingshot when I was level 15 like not hard to tame btw I was on herbivore island and I tamed 3 easy tame especially on mobile.

These guys can be a beast in groups but considering it being a water mount it is restricted on where it can be used and hard to tame. Sarcos much more versatile and easier too tame, overall better mount than this with the stats it has, (better speed and Stam and possibly melee too). Try not to mess with it, it's just too much trouble.

I fell of the boat and 10 of these killed me.

Multi-meg taming trick. Their turn radius is horrible. Stay to their inside and keep using crossbow to sink tranq arrows into them. IF you get outside the turn radius then they will shred you apart

See one of these and either make sure your movement speed is super high and swim or swim to the surface and gain oxygen and be prepared to fight. I learned THAT the HARD way.

I once encountered two megalodons in the shallow water of herbivore island, I just shot at him with tranquillized arrows while thinking that I shot him with normal arrows. He didn’t attack or anything and after a while I noticed that he was unconscious. Tamed him and he didn’t even attack

Go just far enough in the water that you can see some megalodons then shoot one and then go on shore and it should follow you and then tranq it out and tame it

1.get it to agro you and swim as far in land as possible while hitting it with tranqs from a cross bow

2. Now that your far inland when it tries to run you follow it before it can go into nothingness

3.keep hitting it with tranqs after it tries to run and knock it out

These guys are like the raptor of the sea it’s fast, bad stamina, somewhat weight and bad health
