ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies
This is how me and my friend tamed one.
1. Make a couple narcotics
2. Gather berries
3. Go to the redwoods
4. Find one and scoop up with argentavis
5. Hold it with argentavis over a safe spot and have your friend shoot it with tranq arrows every 5 seconds
6. Once knocked out feed berries and narcotics as needed!
7. Enjoy your new friend
Hope this was helpful! :D

KEEP IN MIND!!! THE FEMALES DONT HAVE AN ATTACK BUTTON!!! ONLY THE MALES DO!!!
My favorite cave mount. I have been breeding them for months, my 776 melee outputs as much damage as a wyvern bite at 500 melee, plus bleed. Put an MC or better saddle on one and it will wreck any cave. They absorb otherwise rider inflicted damage, they can jump to clear gaps, they're fast, they output massive damage, and can hit more than one target at once with their attack. What's not to love? (Low health and weight which also makes them painstaking in baby stage)
How to tame: Megaloceros
You will need: Argy with saddle, a bola, berries and a base fairly close to the redwoods. (maybe in southern islets?) Step 1: Hop on your argy and fly to the redwoods. Step 2: Find a female megaloceros with no creatures charging at it or attacking it. Step 3: Pick up the female megaloceros. Step 4: Land at your usual stamina regain spots. Note that whenever you land, you will drop the megaloceros. Make sure to pick it up again. Step 5: Once you're at your base, if you have spike walls surronding it, put the megaloceros in the middle so it won't die. Step 6: Bola it, knock it unconsious with your fists, and give it berries (50 is good, but if you have a berry plant, take all the berries from that plant and put it in the megaloceros' inventory.) Step 7: Wait until it's tamed. At your base, it's safe. Step 8: Name it, and i reccomend to breed females to get strong males, and fight with males. Don't get your males killed! Also keep females to keep the cooldown at bay. Please ^ if this was helpful!
So annoying as a baby... the sounds they make make you want to kick them into next year where they'll be grown up
Guys you can bola it and itโs a really easy knockout you can use five to ten tranq arrows with a crossbow
Quick tip about the megaloceros the males are the only ones that can attack while females are good for fleeing downside is they can't attack and can be killed easily hoped this helped.
I personally just like them as a sort of unique pet...
Yes I love you
Will you be my pet
All 3 died tragically. I had them come into the house because a dinosaur was attacking and they ran to the roof, jumped off and died ๐ญ
I have literally never used these for anything other than killing for easy pelt
To tame a Megaloceros, I would try to tame an Argentavis and carry it to somewhere warm. Assuming you have plenty of Mejoberries from any berry collector, or even by hand, or you could have Dimorphodon kibble you can begin taming. I would suggest using a bola, because these guys like to run. With a few tranquil arrows to their head they would be out quick. These guys don't usually need much narcotics. The megaloceros is amazing at collecting thatch, and they have a bleed effect, which is great for pvp and killing dinos.
Have you noticed in ark mobile (IDK of PC) females doesn't have horns but males have.
YES! Finally learned how to breed and am know waiting for a fawn, or two, or three!
Surprisingly good fighters, my rank 10 Mega is taking down carnos and argies on death island, and escaping with barely a scratch. I suggest upgrading health stamina and speed to maximize survivability.
Right away Ima say the Female Version is completely useless, unless youโre mating them, other than that useless. The Male Version is a different story. They collect thatch and somewhat wood. Really good runners and they do pretty good damage like for example my Megalocero only does 55 damage(I have only upgraded weight and health and a bit of stamina) when you first attack something you do the basic damage but every attack after that it actually does twice the amount of damage because from each hit it strikes your opponent twice. Great animal to tame. -V
A really effective starter tame being powerful and really good for going into places.
They can not go all the way through but if you bring a male with about 4k health and 300+ melee damage you can bring this in CP cave and it will wreck everything
You guys I cannot believe this ๐คฃ I killed 3 Rex (NOT AT THE SAME TIME) with only 1 of these guys knock out and tame a 150 the males are Op itโs unfortunate females canโt attack. Careful these guys take good fall damage though.
