Best way is too net projectile it or if you not that level learn wooden bill boards put them in a pose that when you tranq it it can't jump out from the top and use mutton it's the best way to tame them it's quick and easy cause ovis are all over the Eden zone and you have to be level 19 to learn there saddle and it cost 30 metal ingots which is not hard cuz the river rocks and metal nodes are all around the place

Use a net projectile that you unlock at level 43 to trap the maewing, then shoot or deal the tranquillisers. If you don’t use a net it will glide far away at an amazing speed

Place billboard in front and then around/on top to trap it then knockout to put meat(raw mutton) in inventory and then you have maewing

Certain servers are not registering shots taken to KO. Be warned as it is not as it states on here.

It’s a K O tame the best way to do it is to net Gun it the trap with Dino gateways AND PUT THE DOORS ON THEM

These are knock out tames. Not sure what kibble they prefer yet, but they do eat berries.

Okay okay. So, I think maewings are incredible. Being able to glide at fast speeds make the map very easy to traverse. They are a knockout tame, but be careful because they will flee if hit, and when they do, they jump, and you lose your maewing. But, I’ve got an amazing way to trap them. Get wooden billboards, I would say maybe 5 would be good. Find the maewing you want, then it depends on your timing. You want to place a billboard right in front of it, so it gets temporary stuck. Then place billboards all over it. I would highly suggest putting a billboard in the middle, so the maewing won’t be able to jump, then knock it out, and feed it the food of your choice! For Taming: it prefers meat. Mutton for best results.

After tame: its an omnivore so it eats both.

Babies: while they are also omnivore and will eat both, my testing shows that Babies prefer Raw FISH meat.

Remember to net it or it’ll jump

Use a chainsaw to harvest the mutton to tame anything with mutton. Will get the most mutton ever.

Find one in the middle of the Eden Zone the just crossbow tranq it and feed it mejoberries.NOTE it will flee but just make note of where it landed.
