You don't really need a trap it's down with no more than 5 shots with an ascendant crossbow and tranq arrows. If you are just starting out you may need to do a trap I guess. Just be fast it will bounce away out of sight. I tame on the fly in other words I always just pick narcotics and berries when it goes down. Not the best way I know but works is all I am saying. Doesn't hurt to have extraordinary kibble on you at all times it covers pretty much any animal you put down. I know I'm not the the only one who is never prepared. Well good luck. There are tamers and breeders. I can breed like no tommorrow. Taming takes so damn long. π€£π there are spawns by green obb. Not the only place. The only way to tame is get out there and find what works for you. No way is better than the next person's way.
More Maeguana Encountering Tips
With the latest update to the Astraeos map, the maeguana can no longer jump when it is in the water, I don't know if it's a bug or they configured it so that it's no longer like that, but now it can't do its impulse jump in the water although it's a little faster now
When looking for a lizard nanny, do these steps:
Step 1: get on your argy
Step 2: locate the area where they spawn
Step 3: find one, trap it
Step 4: start knocking it out
Step 5: try to put food in inventory to tame only to realize another tribe got the last shot even tho you trapped it in your trap.
Step 6: get on your argy
Step 7: go home, cry, and pike a dodo
There is a mod called maeguana spawns and it adds maeguana to all of your maps. Very good mod.
