To get a leech off of you, you need to create a fire and jump on the fire for a few seconds until the leech dies

On the island there’s many outbreaks of “swamp fever”. You get Swamp fever by getting a infected leech stuck on you and TRANSFERRING NO longer Gets RID of SWAMP FEVER.

Leeches' melee attacks will ignore any armor that you have, so if you are holding up a shield you will still be damaged through it.

You can have a max of 4 leeches latched onto you, if another leech tries to latch onto you then it will just do melee attacks until you die. Having 4 leeches on your body will also make your health drain at 2 hp per second.

Pretty unknown fact: Diseased leeches will spawn with higher health than a normal leech, and move faster than a normal leech. Also yes they do drop way more leech blood than a normal leech.

FOR MOBILE PLAYERS ONLY:

These can be found in swamp dungeons, one will spawn in the water at fountains at a high level, and you will be guaranteed to find them for every fountain that exists in that dungeon. If one latches onto you they can be removed by stepping into a poison gas vent, same thing applies to diseased leeches too as they also have a chance to spawn there.

If you are going through the swamp with a tame, stop once and a while to get on land and check for leeches on your tame. Go into creature settings and if you see 'remove leech' click it. Keep checking until the botton doesn't show up, as a single tame can have multiple leechs.

(Not related to leechs but I once saw like, 6 Rynionothas flying around absolutely DELETEING every creature in sight. Me, my parasaur, and my three raptors barely made it out with our lives.)

If you have a leech, campfires will burn it off. I THINK that fire might get leechs off tames too, but the first leech method I mentioned is waaaayyyyyyy less risky (Rip 5 dilos)

These are in the swamp, they’re just super rare and you rarely will find them. They must be removed via campfire or cooking pot, same thing applies to dinos that aren’t native to the swamp.

The yutyrannus, not the rex, is your best friend for leech hunting. The leech is vulnerable to the fear roar, and the debuff reveals their location. This makes hunting them a simple errand. You'll collect so much leech blood you could start a swamp fever clinic.

Fire doesn’t work to remove leeches anymore. Go to a tamed animal, open command wheel and click “hold to remove leech.”

Guys according to the ark wiki leeches don’t latch onto swamp-native tames such as

Sarco

Kapro

I think paracer

Probably Titanboa

And I don’t know anything else it wont latch onto

They have a chance to give you swamy sickness if bit. Take a large land Dino like an Allo or Rex and just bite spam water to gather leech blood.

If a leach is on one of your TAMES it will appear on your screen as though it's on you.

Walk up to your tame and hit Triangle(PS4 obvs) and it'll get rid.

Fire DOES still work on mobile (i literally just tried it when a leech was stuck on my chest)

i read that fire didn’t work and read that it sometimes does but i thought let me just try and it WORKED!

just make sure u have some fire pit built next to u on the swamp next time so u won’t waste time collecting wood and stone for one when while ur HP is dropping (specially mine was so low already cuz a sacro gave me a toothy kiss on the butt when i was busy collecting rare flower)
