Their health to torpor ratio is really bad, so you'll need to be lucky with the stat rolls to knock one out without killing it with arrows. It's a bit dumb too since tranq darts are unlocked at the point where these little guys aren't as useful any more...

Here's a tip for killing this monstrosity.

Craft a whip,

Have somthing that does more damage then punching (other then other creatures)

Encounter, slap the bird and it should fall to the ground. Then kill it with your most deadly melee weapon!

If a tamed one kills fish, you get prime from them

Common around the coast. They WILL steal food from you and the creature you're taming. Kill them by bola-ing them and either shooting them or hitting them, they have low health so it's not too hard to quickly get rid of them.

I am the guy who said I understand it now. I got harassed as soon as I spawned in literally I got the damage as soon as I woke up. I understand your pain brothers. But my suggestion will help. Just do test arrows and shoot at them they fly in cricles.

You can find in the side of the beach I found alot of them they like stealing things like eggs and steal alot of narcotics and bola them make them sleep and tame them put them next to a beach they can take prime meat from the dodos and small water creatures my first post btw

Once tamed they will only eat fish. Helpful to keep some cooked fish meat on hand as it takes longer to spoil than raw.

You can tame it with bow and fish, is useful to get fish when you are starting off.

Amazing for early-mid game biotoxin. Throw them off your shoulder, whistle attack target on those darn jellies, and watch them get one-shotted by your trusty bird. You can now swim in peace!

If you have a shotgun they’ll almost always hit them due to their spread, so long as your near enough. If you don’t have guns, crossbows and bolas can take down these scum

Be extra careful with this seagull, it will eat every consumable it steals, including DRAGON eggs and CANTEENS
