Encountering Tips

How do I kill a eurypterid? eurypterid battling strategies in ARK: Survival Evolved.
Fast in water slow on land
They can't swim up
If your a Viking Bay on ragnorok... and you see a cool looking lobster thing... DONT POKE IT WITH A STICK
There are to many in Viking bay Water, were the Viking ship is
These bastards can get out of the water and chase you in ragnarok
Be very careful about these-they do tons of torpor damage, I was down on the bottom of the ocean (on the island) and I saw a pack of these sea scorpions. I decided to dismount off of my mosa and kill them with my pick, as that would get more black pearls. When I got close to them one of them-a level ten hit me and knocked me out in one shot. I was level 88, wearing journeyman flak and apprentice riot. And they knocked me out in one hit. The moral of the story is that these things are very dangerous.
These guys are very rare to find in mobile but they DO exist.
Are these in Ark mobile?anyone please answer
I was farming pearls for a saddle and wanted to see if these things did good damage swam up to let it bite me… worst decision of my life
Fun fact: eurypterids count as insects for Beelzebufo's (frog) increased damage. Grab a frog, dive down into Viking Bay and get a shitload of black pearls!
Warning to all players who enter the waters in Rockwell’s garden in genesis part 2. These water scorpions of death are EVERYWHERE there. Safe travels!
Me and my sister were on our way to go on a jungle adventure (We were playing on ragnarok and we lived at Viking Bay) and I had to stop to get water, I got a drink and my sister thought she’ll get a drink too and fill up her water skin, all of a sudden i say “Ooo a pretty tail” and then I’m knocked out. Me and my sister were playing splitscreen and we found a bug with it where when I got knocked out by the Lobster thing she did too, and she wasn’t even that close to me, so we both were screwed and we died. I then came back, killed it with my crossbow, and took a selfie with its dead corpse. Now in the present we still encounter them, but we know how to handle them. Infinite Chitin, Black Pearls, and Silica Pearls! Yay! (yes.. to this day we still live in Viking bay...)
Shrimp is danger period
For you nerds out there, the specific eurypterid we see in ARK is called Megaloraprus, the second biggest species of sea scorpion right behind Jaekolopterus!!
These guy can float on land no joke............by the way
If you on mobile, you can find this on bottom right of the map, around the Herbivore Island. Just ride dolphin, so you can bite anything that live on the sea without taking an aggro (even Mosa and Plesio).
Me and my dad were playing and I saw a floating lobster and it knocked me out, my dad try to kill it I was crying because I was 5 at the time.
APPROACH WITH EXTREME CAUTION REGARDLESS OR YOUR LEVEL!!!!
First time I saw them at the bottom of the ocean, decided to kill it because it would have only taken just a few hits; I get stung TWICE and my Torpor hits almost instantly to 90% full. Here I am, at the depths of the water, with a Lazarus Chowder enabled, slowly drowning unconscious, by the time I wake up, I frantically swim to the surface but my Sarco couldn’t make it, decided to swim solo, died halfway to the surface from lack of oxygen.
They are small but extremely dangerous to be attacked by, so unless you can guarantee you won’t get knocked out by Torpor harvesting Black Pearls, there’s no reason to take that risk.
Quick tip.. THEY GO ON LAND! I had no clue and got attacked from behind when I was on land a good distance from the water. Ended up losing all my stuff in pvp it wasn’t great
do not look for the death lobster
On mobile, You’ll find these in the deep ocean south of Herbavore Island. Usually about 2 or 3 are there. Take a Dolphin to get your photo of these, and they’re a breeze☺️
