Recommended to tame at start because eventually they will be hunted, and harder to find ;)

Anyways, after my tip to taming (mine says things to note and cage taming and free taming) I decided to do a tip about what they can do, and how to find, etc.

First of all, the equus is extremely hard to find. They are like the diplocaulus of the land. They are easiest to find at the green obelisk. If you don’t find any, do a destroywilddinos command. Once I did this. Four appeared, two died instantly and then one did. Then the last one I picked up.

Second of all, they are great for taming! You could easily tame an army of dilos or a computer for a shoulder pet! They are one of the creatures that has amazing jump, like the Thyla and megaloceros. They are great for traveling if speed, weight, and health (health for any surprise attacks from wild Dinos) are upgraded.

Third of all, their saddle is an on-the-go-mortar-and-pestle. If you knock out a theri with tranq darts while exploring and are in need of some narcotics, get some old spoiled meat (maybe keep it with equus) and collect narcoberries. They aren’t too bad at berry collecting!

Last of all, they are just cute. Literally are sweet pony friends and you can build stables with a paddock and put them on wander, you could get 5 or more and ride one as the leader, you can do many things! People on servers can do “equus shows” for a small fee of a material that is needed too!

How to tame a equus (easy way):

Make a trap were ever you want it should be a 2×2 trap so it would not move grab it by using argy or bola it and build the trap surrounding it and now just feed it dont get on it feed it like pacife tame it will increas faster and if you are on mobile just do tame equus porsuit and you get high rank better than wasting engram point

Don’t breed these. They take forever, your better off just getting carrot seeds and taming another one.

Xbox one: as soon as you mount you need to feed again straight away otherwise you're dumped.

There are fire equus called nocti they’re very rare to find only in ark mobile tho

It was very hard for me to tame my Equuses. I dismounted on accident so many times on my first one, its effectiveness went down to 33%.9. Partly because of the terror birds attacking, and me pressing rockarrots on accident, and lastly.... Because of hunger. I managed to find a lvl 13. I tamed it with 73.99 effectiveness, or so. Equus are so rare for me on mobile, to the point where if I have lots of rockarrots, and I see an equus, or lots of equus, I will bring Rexy to demolish all that dare attack those, so I can tame them all. Also, for me again, they are rare for me, BUT... It seems like they are as rare as a unicorn. (If you find equus every once in like.. days? Then please tame all you can, until you have enough equuses to swap out incase one dies). Also, equus can only be tamed with Dilo kibble, or rockarrot. So please don't come at it with any other berry. THEY ARE NOT KNOCKOUT TAMES, I REPEAT, THEY ARE NOT KNOCKOUT TAMES. When I tried to tame an equus before I got my tamed ones, I saw one but it was getting chased by a raptor. I decided to let it die, because I figured there would be more. Biggest mistake of my life. NO. NONE. All spawn points empty. No more equus. So I went back to my base. And I came back in redwoods. Still no equus. Hours, or a day later... BOOM walking at the right end of redwoods, 2 equus spawn. Me sitting there with no rockarrots. 0. So I tamed an iguano, and got a heck a lotta rockarrots. I tamed them both. I named a brown one Starbuckz, and the other Silver. They are happy in my base❤️. Unfortunately, they are both female, so I cannot breed.

They take a while to tame but are totally worth it ,

They are fast and strong and you can use a lasso while on it

To get 97% taming bonus feed it 10×soothing balm from piranha percuit and feed it carrots while riding.it running on circle so tame one when nobad thing near otherwise if it takes damage you lost bonus percentage.

You better tame this cause you can use it to tame gigas and rexs

Very underrated KOer for creatures with lower torpor and a extremely good travel mount with incredibly small stamina drain. Pump in only speed and stamina.

Rockarrots are magic on these. I seriously fed it and didn’t even need to get on.

Taming a equus is a passive tame not a knock out. You'll need to make a trap so it won't run off and get killed. You'll need as much berries as the DeX says. And have a ghillie suit to not spook it.But in case you accidently mount off and lose some taming effect have some more berries with you just in case. This is how I did it.

If you are a mobile player and you want to ride tame I recommend you bring four times the amount of rockarrots that is shown. When ride taming always passive feed first then jump and ride it. The tame time was also drastically lower than what was shown if you are ride taming, it took a little less than half of the shown tame time. The equus will also eat more often if you are ride taming and with rockarrots it stays at 100% taming effectiveness. Keep in mind the spoil time for rockarrots and bring extra rockarrots incase some spoil.

Equus are good for berry harvesting, knocking out other dinos, and travel creatures.

i dont know how but i went here to see how many carrots i need to tame a lvl 45, it said i needed only 14 so i grabbed like 25 carrots and went to tame it

14 carrots hardly made it halfway, idk if it was bc the horse was mate boosted or if this app is just really innacurate, bc before i went to tame it already made sure i put in the level right and used the right multiplier wtf

found the horse in a super safe area near base too but now it already ran off to raptor infested territory bruh

As a Professional Equus breeder I think u should always tame both genders and breed them and even though it usually takes a long time for the equus to be born it still is amazing when you imprint the equus fully it is one of the best things you can have.

When I was trying to find and tame my first equus it was pretty rare and always spawn near the raptors,therizeno,spinos,rexes,allos and other deadly Predators. But after I've tamed one I saw 3 equus spawning near Peaceful rivers many times lol

Tip for begginers-equus spawn mostly near rivers or forests. Before taming, you should watch the area carefully or else maybe when you have almost tamed an equus a carnivore may come out of nowhere and ruin your taming, Because most of the times I saw them spawning near rivers spinos there. But if you have Argy then just pick up equus and put it into a taming pen and there you go.

And also use kibble or carrots to tame it. Don't use berries otherwise it will take whole day to tame an equus.

Levelling up melee will increase the torpor when the kick is used as well, correct?
