Don't listen to the taming numbers. Bring twice the amount.

You might want to take some anti-nausea medicine before trying to tame this thing because it just runs in circles (for me at least, and on mobile). A lvl50 took like an hour of running in circles. It was very painful.

But sorta worth it because it’s a mobile mortar&pestle and now I can lasso people.

Find them in grasslands, just south of the snow biome.

Do not reccomend for quick travel on mobile it it is not really that fast and raptor or parasaur are better alternatives but they are great for knocking out other creatures

They can make lassos and work as a mortar and pestle with a saddle and you get an equus saddle by completing the “tame equus” mission

If you are on mobile don’t tame a level 95 like I tried to do each carrot did 1.3% and when I finally got it to eighty percent I accidentally tapped the carrot twice to feed which dismounted me, lost ten percent taming percentage and effectiveness. :( then to top it off when I quickly remounted it it was already bucking and I wasn’t ready… I was knocked out then lost ALL my progress. So in respect for the Equus I gave it it’s freedom and plonked it in a safe spot to taunt me every time I fly by. I was seconds away from lighting it up with a fabricated pistol but i felt like that would be a b!tch move. Just go for a bad lvl if on mobile, there are better mounts then those filthy bloody equestrians anyway…. Maybe I’m just salty lol

For mobile (android and ios) if you're having difficulty feeding it in time remember you can put the food on your hotbar and go to settings -> controlls -> (left or right or both) multitap and set it to the inventory slot where you put the food so you can just double tap anywhere on your screen to feed it, also don't forget if you try to feed before it wants to or you miss the time I'll kick you and deal massive amount of torpor so it might be worth putting 1 or 2 points in fortitude and bringing stims and water

FOR CONSOLE ASA PLAYERS:

You need a keyboard for this now. You have to press E when it needs feeding on the keyboard as Y on the controller kicks you off.

Also, fun fact. Untamed Carchas as way faster than taming Equus.

MOBILE PLAYERS- to buck kick swipe down with your steering hand. To do a normal attack just tap.

CONSOLE: Need a Keyboard in order to tame! Whenever prompted to feed click “E” to feed.

If you plan on taming one of these guys MAKE SURE you have A LOT OF CARROTS taming it with berries it takes A LONG TIME to get one with berries so once again HAVE A LOT OF CARROTS!!!!!!!

Equus can knock itself out if using too much stamina while buck kicking. This can happen in the middle of the fight. Potentially getting your equus killed

Slap a saddle on one of these zebra horses and make it your mobile chem bench. No need to bring stone back to your base to make spark for gunpowder any longer :-)

Really weird thing happend on mobile! I used one of these guys on a bush and I got a plant species X seed! Any ideas why?

Where can I find these? I spent 2 hours going up and down the island to find one. I eventually did in the redwoods (it died), and now I don't know what to do. Do I need to clear the dinos where they spawn or destroy rocks/trees to make them visible from argy? Idk help please 😔

Whenever I try to tame these guys, a raptor or any carnivore of some sort always attacks, and kills it. It takes me hours to find another one :(

Very good tip a Carnotaurus will always near anequs so be prepared

Build 4x4 thatch room with open roof, collect a bunch of carrots, find equus (recommend turning on pursuit to get directions to nearest one), grab with argy, bring to pen, take.

You can pick this creature up with a wyvern and quetzal I tried it
