Here's how to tame an equus step 1. Find an eqqus step 2 sneak untill it stops step 3. Feed rockarrots at he right time do not feed early it will lose taming percentage step.4 reapeat that a few times (I recommend 33-48 rockarrots) step 5. Your done! If you want another one repeat the process.

On PS5 you cannot feed the equus when mounted for whatever reason, if you press triangle again you dismount it doesn’t let you feed or if you press L1+left on the d-pad you eat the carrot yourself and you don’t feed the carrot to the equus? I’ve had to go into creative mode and forcetame one to actually have one. Not sure if it’s a bug but just letting it be known.

An absolute pain to tame, have fun.

VERY EASY TAME (ARK MOBILE )

1st- Make about 6 kibbles ( DILO EGG ) & harvest about 30 carrots

2nd- Take high melee level Argy incase you’re in trouble.

3rd- Feed Equus a carrot and tap to hop on. Feed kibble and carrots until tamed. BAM!! You have an Equus.

If your on Ark mobile, the place that I’ve found all 3 of my tamed Equus is on a beach slightly to the right from Herb Island (sorry if it doesn’t make sense). Another way to get to it is running west from the swamp along the beach when you reach the end of that beach run north for like half a minute and that’s the beach im talking about.

Just be careful because I’ve seen Rexes, Carnos, Allos, Theris, Sarcos, Terror Birds and soooo many Raptors spawn there, it’s better if your on a flyer so you can get up to higher places to escape.

Also if you are struggling with non-mount taming just go for the mounted taming, it takes a tad bit longer but that’s the only difference, it can also stop it from walking into carnivores. I recommend a good stack or two of carrots but if you don’t have crops yet mejoberrys work fine they just take longer.

So about finding them when on mobile you can use the tame equus pursuit to help but with my luck everyone of them has been murked by Raptors or a Spino and most of the time they don’t wanna be found (example I have been around the map 6 times only found one and it was one shot by a spino that came outta nowhere). So if you happen to have my luck….good luck finding one and taming it 😃👍.

It says that you need 1 dilo kibble for a level 3 equus. When I tried to tame a level 3 equus with dilo kibble (I'm on mobile) the taming bar went up 24%. Bring extra food! (I did tame the equus tho, I brought 2 kibble and some carrots just in case) so BRING EXTRA FOOD!

Don’t make an equus saddle start tame equus pursuit and tame an equus to get a equus saddle for free

Level Health and Stamina and a little bit of melee, up to 200 per kick and use to knock out literally everything. Can knock out whole heards of wolves and allos. Can even knock out a giga with high enough health. Remember to use a saddle for extra armor. Wont even need tranqs and horses can make narcotics with the saddle so it's an all in 1 taming machine.

On Xbox you need to hold Y to feed, not tap it.

Just tamed a 150 on official with carrots ima cry when it dies

If you ever see one and sneak up to tame it but it never gives you the option to feed than it might have been partially tamed by someone else. To fix, knock out and when it wakes up you can tame.

The taming interval is irregular! You just have to watch for the prompt and react in time (not too hard, you have a solid 2 secs to hit E).

Alright , so here’s how you’re gonna get yourself an Equus that can knock out everything from a Dilo to a lvl 135 Rex. Step one is, obviously, get yourself an Equus. They are commonly found in wide, open, grassy fields. To tame one, you have to sneak up behind it and feed it some food. Carrots are the best, besides kibble, but berries work on lower levels, too. After than, you have a short amount of time to mount the horse. When it kicks it’s legs back and nays, you have to feed it. Rinse and repeat until you have a horse. Then, level up it’s damage to around 250, you don’t want to kill you potential tame. You’ll also want to level movement speed and health. And that’s about it. You should also be careful when knocking things out with this thing. If you kick something while it’s unconscious, it could die, and if it doesn’t, it’ll ruin the taming effectiveness. Be especially careful when knocking out creatures trapped by the net projectile, as it can be hard to tell when their knocked out. Good luck, and happy taming.
