What are tips for equus? Tips and strategies for equus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Alright , so here’s how you’re gonna get yourself an Equus that can knock out everything from a Dilo to a lvl 135 Rex. Step one is, obviously, get yourself an Equus. They are commonly found in wide, open, grassy fields. To tame one, you have to sneak up behind it and feed it some food. Carrots are the best, besides kibble, but berries work on lower levels, too. After than, you have a short amount of time to mount the horse. When it kicks it’s legs back and nays, you have to feed it. Rinse and repeat until you have a horse. Then, level up it’s damage to around 250, you don’t want to kill you potential tame. You’ll also want to level movement speed and health. And that’s about it. You should also be careful when knocking things out with this thing. If you kick something while it’s unconscious, it could die, and if it doesn’t, it’ll ruin the taming effectiveness. Be especially careful when knocking out creatures trapped by the net projectile, as it can be hard to tell when their knocked out. Good luck, and happy taming.

Level Health and Stamina and a little bit of melee, up to 200 per kick and use to knock out literally everything. Can knock out whole heards of wolves and allos. Can even knock out a giga with high enough health. Remember to use a saddle for extra armor. Wont even need tranqs and horses can make narcotics with the saddle so it's an all in 1 taming machine.
On Xbox you need to hold Y to feed, not tap it.
Fast taming: Use 10× soothing balm and feed around 4 Rockcarrot for lvl 25
If u dont have 10× soothing balm you can use 3× soothing balm and it cost around 13 Rockcarrot.
And dont forget to sneaking in back of equus to feed it. Or it will run away
Make a small box bring one in and Tame it in base because they are a pain in the neck
If you are in ragnarok, these guys are one of the easiest tames. Just go to the abandoned farm in highlands, collects rockarrots, and start taming.
What does it mean by lazy eqqus is it different from a normal eqqus
Just build a pen and tame a quetz then pick them up and drop them in the pen then take them
Don't shoot with arrows, if you get near one of these beast simply feed it, then mount on it, when it starts to try to kick you off feed it with e while on. Hope this helped
Bring it to place which is surrounded with water like a little island so its not able to run in a dino
When the mounted Equis takes damage there is a chance that the taming progress will be reset.
Getting the Equis trapped in my quetzal's hit box gradually lowered the taming progress - this did not happen when it got stuck in wild creatures.
Once an Equus is spooked it tends to run forever and not allow it's self to be tamed.
You can ko the Equus for another passive tame attempt when it wakes up.
Equus seems to spook easily at night and spawn mostly during the day.
I got 3 Equus in east zone 1 ,so check there. But the area is very dangerous. There are rex, pulmunoscorpus, raptor, terror bird, allosaur. So, be safe
First encounter i ride him i feed him some carrots and it ran away i wanna name him tesla
Run if they come close otherwise u will be dead
WHAT A CHORE THAT WAS!
Took me forever to figure it out. It kept running away from me, but thankfully I had my pteranodon to fly after it😂
Anyway, I stocked up at least 40 rockacarrots because they don’t exactly last long do they? I was then able to sort of stay on, but it did knock me out. I then figured out that you have to wait whilst it’s running around with you to be able to feed it. Takes forever but worth it - I now have a Equus named Grace after my own melon headed horse
Tbh, just plop your horse in a taming pen cuz if you get bucked off of these guys they go to I finite and beyond
It’s really faster lol Ramsey
Honestly one of my favorite mounts ever, my opinion could be biased since I love horses but me and my partner both find my Equus Phobos, very useful! I often use Phobos to knock out all sorts of creatures, including like Brontos and Rex’s, the taming part is tricky but honestly they’re a pretty nice mount, they also collect berries quite well, I often use my Equus for harvesting narco berries
