The only place i have ever found these is near the river/ beach on the backside of the griffin mountain.

If you are going after a high level. Tame a low level first and use the lasso to drag the high level into a pen. If the eqqus is still aggroed onto you log out then back in.

it's easier to grab one with an argentavis and take it to a fence to make sure it doesn't run away.

These tames are a great mount for noobs and pros. I have one and he is a great berry gatherer. I’m (or was) taming an giant Dino that needed rockerrarrats. I rode on Marty and got plenty of carrots. *****

You can use the equus as a chem bench if you put the saddle on it.

This is supposed to help others on mobile. To feed the horse “equip” the carrot while looking at it. To see that you are looking at it a little blue and black thing will pop up. Then once its fed get close and look at the left upper corner of the screen and ride. Once it starts bucking tap the carrot in the corner of your screen. (A little side note: Keep jumping until it runs out of stamina. It becomes easier to take and more likely to not run into a Rex or something.)

Can be obtained at Lvl10 and can be used to easily knock out lower level dinos with the buck attack if the dino is Bolad.

I know this is about the Equus but i tamed my unicorn without mounting it. Not sire hoe different they are but i had ghille suit and crouched the entire time behind it and kept feeding it carrots. Tamed in 4 carrots with a level 35

When tameing a equus unicorn stay on it and watch for the indcater at bottom of screen if in xbox when it goes up hold Y and just continue doing that til fully tamed

These things are amazing for taming!!!

First they knock things out

Second they gather berries ( for taming and narcotics)

Third they can craft narcotics

And finally they can drag live or unconcous dinos. ; )

The Equus is so majestic, any wild dinosaur crossing your path will become instantly hypnotized as you ride into the sunset like Clint Eastwood. Also, you don't tame the Equus, the Equus tames you if you are worthy enough.

They arent a passive tame. They are whats called an active tame. You have to feed and perform actions such as mounting and feeding whilst mounted.

Here's how to tame an equus step 1. Find an eqqus step 2 sneak untill it stops step 3. Feed rockarrots at he right time do not feed early it will lose taming percentage step.4 reapeat that a few times (I recommend 33-48 rockarrots) step 5. Your done! If you want another one repeat the process.

On PS5 you cannot feed the equus when mounted for whatever reason, if you press triangle again you dismount it doesn’t let you feed or if you press L1+left on the d-pad you eat the carrot yourself and you don’t feed the carrot to the equus? I’ve had to go into creative mode and forcetame one to actually have one. Not sure if it’s a bug but just letting it be known.

An absolute pain to tame, have fun.

VERY EASY TAME (ARK MOBILE )

1st- Make about 6 kibbles ( DILO EGG ) & harvest about 30 carrots

2nd- Take high melee level Argy incase you’re in trouble.

3rd- Feed Equus a carrot and tap to hop on. Feed kibble and carrots until tamed. BAM!! You have an Equus.

If your on Ark mobile, the place that I’ve found all 3 of my tamed Equus is on a beach slightly to the right from Herb Island (sorry if it doesn’t make sense). Another way to get to it is running west from the swamp along the beach when you reach the end of that beach run north for like half a minute and that’s the beach im talking about.

Just be careful because I’ve seen Rexes, Carnos, Allos, Theris, Sarcos, Terror Birds and soooo many Raptors spawn there, it’s better if your on a flyer so you can get up to higher places to escape.

Also if you are struggling with non-mount taming just go for the mounted taming, it takes a tad bit longer but that’s the only difference, it can also stop it from walking into carnivores. I recommend a good stack or two of carrots but if you don’t have crops yet mejoberrys work fine they just take longer.

So about finding them when on mobile you can use the tame equus pursuit to help but with my luck everyone of them has been murked by Raptors or a Spino and most of the time they don’t wanna be found (example I have been around the map 6 times only found one and it was one shot by a spino that came outta nowhere). So if you happen to have my luck….good luck finding one and taming it 😃👍.

After losing three unicorns to raptors while I was taming or about to tame, I went with the super paranoid/cautious route. Build a basic ramp trap, aggro’ed it using a rare flower, and kited it into the trap. Left the area to give it a chance to calm down. First attempt was a no-go, didn’t even get the feeding prompt. Build another, larger pen (fence foundations, two levels of wood walls just in case) around the first one, broke down the first, and was good to go. Tamed it without the worry of raptor interference or it running somewhere it shouldn’t.

(Ark Mobile) I tamed it by going rodeo with it hahaha,This is how I do it

1. Sneak on it and when I close enough I dash and quickly ride it

2. Quickly feed it with rockarrot to soothe it before it's bucks you off

3. Don't spam feed,give one at the time,if you accidentally double tap two rockarrot it's will bucks you off (it's don't like force feed haha)

4. When it's hungry it's will try to bucks off you again,feed to calm it again

5. Pursuit ask you to collect 5 rockarrot only but I would recommend brought a lot as it's spoils fast and you might need to travel finding it

6. I found it on the way to the volcano on left side.They slightly near the volcano on green grass part

7. There was titanoboa, raptor, titanoboa, pusmonocus, baryonx when I was there so careful

P/s: I don't know if it's effective than other taming method but I have fun this way, I don't have to sneak on it all the time and chase it around towards predators,it's just goes back and forth ( I clutch to it for my dear life hahahaha xD) Good luck everyone if trying it xD
