Tips & Strategies

What are tips for dung beetle? Tips and strategies for dung beetle in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
An easy area to find the dung beetles is the south cave.
If you have a farm set up and have a phiomia, just use stimberries to feed phiomia and get poop. If you aren't ready for south cave than you can use phiomia poop rather than fertilizer and bypass the beetle for a bit. As soon as you get a good barry, you should tame a dung beetle. You should tame lots of low levels because high levels take forever to tame. Up if this was helpful.
Tip for fjordur:
Can be found in the dung beatle cave in the red woods located at 25.1 LAT and 93.1 LON. It's just a small little cave full of these little fertilizer machines.
ON lost island u can find them on swamp beaches
Use a argie to carry it where you need to go
Lost iland they spawn around 25.5 62.0 easy no cave
You should be training these guys in 2 things: Health (for the off chance of a predator attack) and weight. The weight part might seem pointless now, especially since it barely adds anything, but you want to be able to feed these guys as much poop as possible.
Besides, the higher the starting level, the better you will be able to increase a stat (example: Moschops tamed at level 1 weight upgrade: 15%. Moschops tamed at level 100 weight upgrade: 30%-35%.)
Besides, Dung Beetles are a key progression point in ARK. Don’t believe me? Well, you need to cook certain foods for certain quests, and most recipes require some kind of crop or berry.
The problem? Poop will eventually decompose and your crops will disappear, meanwhile fertilizer lasts a lot longer before needing to be replaced. So not only do you want one of these with high health and weight capacity levels, but you also want multiple to maximize output.
How do they have so much health for such a small thing
They take forever to be hungry again so use bigger poops
For those people playing mobile,
These aren’t only in dungeons, they are also found in the south cave AND lava cave! Trust me, I’ve seen them in there. The ones in caves usually want spoiled meat, but I’ve done passive tames and if it says, for example, (on a diplo) “feed azulberry to tame” you don’t have to. You can give it kibble instead. So I guess you can give dung beetles poo if they want spoiled meat. Raw meat also works to tame them. Oh, and have yourselves a good day with beetles! (Sorry it was long.)

To the person who lets us all know about the spino trick, thank you and if you drain an argys stam, it will double, but not naturally, unlike the spino
