In order to tame one of these little guys, you’ll need to hold out a torch. It will then land on your arm and prompt you to complete one of three tasks before you can feed it: Kill, Harvest, or Craft things to gain XP. After each task, it will give you the option to feed it food from your hotbar.

From my testing, its preferred food is Exceptional Kibble.

Side note — all four seasonal variants of this creature:

• Spring

• Summer

• Autumn

• Winter

— tame the exact same way. Good luck and happy taming!

Lure them onto your shoulder with a torch.

Will latch on and ask for XP, either kill, craft, or harvest.

Feed taming food once done.

Repeat until tamed.

1: Bring a torch (and equip it)

2: It'll come towards you and get on your shoulder

3: You'll now need to get one of three sources of xp; Harvest xp, Killing xp, or Crafting xp (for harvesting, chop down trees and for crafting do sleeping bags)

4: Once you fill up the appropriate bar with the corresponding xp, put yellow kibble into your taming slot (I used cyan) and feed it.

5: Repeat steps 3 & 4 until tamed

Use the cloth head armor for your crafting. Only requires fiber so easy to tame without needing a lot of material. Have a pickaxe or axe as well for the harvesting prompt, recommend pickaxe for the flint as it will way you down less. Then of course a sword or pike for the kill xp prompt. Prime Meat works great.

I just tamed one on raw mutton; 10 feeds. It came out level 148 so it was not a high level… raw mutton is not the way.

To tame one of these beautiful little dragons you need a torch in hand and kibble in the last slot. I used extrodinary kibble but I think a lesser version works. Once it lands on your shoulder a bar with an xp gather task will show up. So far only 3 have pop up for me gathering xp, crafting xp, and kill xp. After you fill the bar use a kibble. Repeat untill tamed.

Use torch to attract. Then you can tame.

You have to have a torch out to tame this, it will jump on your shoulder and then it will give you a task to do. Once you complete the task you have to feed it. I've been using raw mutton.

How to tame Drakelings

You will have 4 different variants

Spring

Summer

Autumn

Winter

Each variant will have its own buffs that are based on the biome you are in and can transfer xp to other Dino’s as well as give you a great amount of insulation and xp boost.

Now to tame them you’ll need a torch hold it out and the Drakeling will hover over to your shoulder. You will have 1 min and 25 seconds to complete an XP Task. Crafting, Killing, or harvest then you may feed it kibble to tame it.

Spring Drakeling buffs

Aspect Of Spring: +1% / +15 health regen, -10% stamina consumption

Native Biome Boost: +10% XP and +10% loot quality

Draconic Knowledge(if on your shoulder): "Drakelings store a percentage of experience while mounted. Can be used to boost another creatures experience, with higher value boosts also granting a 'Dragon Hoard Key'."

(I just copied the buff descriptions from the "Show buffs" menu)

We’re on an unofficial server. We have no mods in regards to dinos. We are currently on extinction. Dododex and google says they are not on said map. I have tamed several winters, a couple summers, and a spring on said map. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The Habitat bonus for these things will re-roll any and all drops including the new hoarder chests, for best result have someone without the buff check first to see if there is anything of value, if not the drakeling owner can open to re-roll the loot entirely, including if loot was already taken as long as at least 1 item still in the drop!

To tame a drakeling you need to have a torch then search for the drakeling then equip your torch and wait until the drakeling comes on your shoulder but keep holding the torch then it maybe forces you to kill or level up crafting skills or others, if you did what it forces you then congrats you got a drakeling

They eat meat as babies. Also, you can breed them even if they are not the same variant. (ex: summer with winter, spring with autumn, and go on)

Best tools for taming these, pump action shotgun/Chainsaw/pick/Sickle. FIRST Use a torch to get it to land on your shoulder. Use pump action to take large dinos down to instantly fill bar for kills, chainsaw wood or corpses for Harvest. Build wood foundations for Crafting(3 ceilings does the trick usually). Then Have extraordinary kibble in last slot to feed overtime as you Fill your drakelings request.

Good luck.

Prime cooked jerky works good when taming

Craft sleeping bags they fill the craft want very fast never need more than 2

The first step is to get them to land on your shoulder. Food of any type will not work on them; instead, you need a torch to lure them. Once a Drakeling lands on your shoulder, the second step of taming will begin, where they will take you hunting.

You will see a set of instructions near your hotbar asking you to kill other creatures. Once the bar is full, you will need to feed the Drakeling a Superior Kibble. This will increase the taming progress by a small percentage, and the progress bar will reset, along with the timer. Repeat this until it reaches 100% and you’ve tamed your first Darkeling.

Equip a torch and get close to it. It will jump onto your shoulder and then just read at the bottom of the screen what it wants you to do. Seems to jump between tasks and feeding it taming food, which I think is superior kibble.

PS do not fall in the water while it is on your shoulder it will dismount it and mess up the taming

Use a torch to lure it to your shoulder then complete its requests of gain harvest, crafting, or kill exp. Have to kill on foot. It will fly off if you hop on a mount. Likes exceptional kibble or mutton best but any meat works.
