I use this to run the cave between volcano and obsidian mountain. Works great

These guys are my favourite cave tames they can harvest tons of hide and chitin and also have good health and melee also in mobile you can tame a 800+ lvl wolf from killing it in yeti/strong cave and reviving it via Implant and taming these beasts

People have been saying these are a good tame for early game, but they aren’t. Why? BECAUSE THEY LIVE IN THE NORTH ZONE, YOU DO NOT EVER GO THERE IN EARLY GAME. EVER. Also, hide is actually an easy resource to get in early game, they are just good for farming pelt, and that is difficult to get.

Absolute amazing tames and can do most caves on the Island, also very fun to bring a pack and run around killing things! (Watch out for Gigas though) these are very strong tames once fully imprinted and with mate boost + Alpha bonus.

On mobile you can equip it with a helmet, this fixes the no armour from saddle problem quite nicely.

Dire wolves are the best creatures for getting keratin. So get an argy and pickup your direwolf. Head to the beach and kill turtles.

The Direwolves are very clearly a great, early game, cheap to use tame that is amazing at dealing with caves. I would recommend to tame one as quick as you can but stay away from the threats that the arctic has to throw at you, when tamed, the best utility they offer is gaining early game artifacts in a pack they gain a boost which is brilliant for eliminating those who get in your way.

In a dungeon, these things health SUCKS, but once you revive and tame them, they are AMAZING, mine tamed out at 225, and is now 237, and she is both amazing in looks, and stats. She can kill a lvl 50 bronto in less than thirty seconds. So yeah, these guys are the best (Eerie version looks cool at night, trust me)

Dire wolves are great for going inside caves but without armor they have less protection

The BEST base defense thing for offline or online protection, have more than 1 cuz they get a Pack boost and have an = amount of boy and girl for mate boost, watch your enemies beg for mercy, and the same goes for offense use the tactics above

So i got a few wolves from the yeti cave and then bred them like 6 times.. now i got a pack that actually killed an enemy giga(and the rider), although i lost all of them because this wanker has another giga and a couple of rexes when they raided us.

Anyone who says the saber is better is clearly lying in every way

How to tame as low lvl in ark (mobile, or not)

Get 2-5 fria curry, meat or prime and a ptera

Have health thingies and 4 foundations, 14 doorframes and 2 ramps, wood at least

Drink fria curry everytime you loose the buff and recover when needed

Find wolf

Build 4x4 trap and 2 doorframe height except from where the ramps are (they jump)

Get the pack in (with ptera for easier) and kill the ones you dont want

MOBILE BUG bed bug: sleep and whatever wolf you hit with tranq first will have its hunger dropped down to 0, meaning that it will tame instantly, or just use soothing balms.

Extra step:

Give them a stack of meat and get back to your house with ptera and request him

Tip:

This guys aggro from a lot far away (like 2 rexes in a line) so get the aggro, get them out, build trap, aggro and get them in.

For cheap but bad method:

As I’ve learned, dire wolfs are very good cave creatures . Just don’t go into the yeti cave without a pack of high level wolves

Apparently direwolves aren't a common tame amongst higher level tribes so they're uber good for trading- also essential for early game! Suck it up and go into the arctic for an hour you'll live! Probably!

If you tame an Eerie Direwolf on mobile, their stats are already ridiculous from their original habitat. Health, admittedly, could be better. These things are BEASTS. Level their health to 10k (or mutate it to 10k, ur choice) and add a little melee and speed, you’ll be wrecking ANY alpha you come across, and with 25k or 30k health, you’ll be taking down GIGAS, with a pack, of course. -BrokenWolves

If you get a male and a female you can breed and have a pack of dire wolves. I put a Dawson in my pack so it could heal my wolves in a bad situation.

I breed direwolves and use them for running the artifact caves. A fully imprinted wolf can be significantly better than most dinos that would fit in one of those caves, even with no armor.
