1. go to the strong cave

2. look for direwolves

3. kill the direwolves over lvl 100 (depends on ur difficulty) and take their implants

4. save ur save file

5. revive the highest level direwolf and tame them (recommend a good crossbow and a bola)

6. be sexist and look for the highest lvl male and the highest lvl female (u may want to load ur save file couple times)

7. breed the high lvl male and female

8. imprint it, put toys in it, etc...

To the person who asked if you could bola these. Yes you can, I tamed two low leveled wolves for breeding recently using bolas. Warning: you do have to hit them directly, if you hit their head, tail, or legs it doesn’t count.

If knocking these things out and you run out of arrows/ darts, don’t worry. It takes about five seconds for a there torpor to be in full effect. So if you hit a dire wolf, the tranq dart torpor would only be 1/5 of the way into the dire wolf. HIT UR HEADSHOTS!!!

How to tame: Find a low level one. And lead it away from it pack. (This will really only work on scorched earth because they either travel in very small packs, or sometimes solo. The most I have yet seen them in is a pack of three.) Bola it. Then shoot tranqs into face. (Or boomerang) Once it is knocked out, place plant species Y all around it so u won’t be killed if it’s pack comes back or a hostile animal comes by. I recommend starve taking them because you xD n then tame them with regular meat. Hope this helps!

When I tame dire wolves I like to use a trap. The trap consists of at least four stone foundations, eight door frames, one stone ceiling, and a ramp. To get the direwolf into the trap I use either a argy or a wyvern. Once I get the direwolf into the trap I then put it to sleep through shooting it with tranquilizing arrows. Once knocked out, the food I like to give to the direwolf is mutton which makes it a quick and easy tame. (Sorry about making this so long.)

If you need to tame one (witch I recomend) use a bola and either shoot with darts, tranq arrows or hit it with a club after that make sure to have narcotics because they wake up pretty fast jope this tip was helpful

If you need five or ten more meat then chose a wolf then kill the others for more meat and use a prod if you can

To the person who asked what is the best in the cave: i use a lvl 800 raptor, and he can do all the caves except ice, haven't cleared that one (I'm too scared of losing my raptor)

This thing is a beast if u see a pack of them and u don't have a good dinosaur u r dead when they are in pack they produce a pack boost which will raise their meele and increase their resistance from attack

Using it for killing bosses is highly effective their pack bonus and mate boost along with a howl and maybe yuty? Death to all boss.

These are very good all-purpose tames. They actually make pretty good travel mounts if you're not carrying much because of their speed. A well-leveled one can take just about anything you might encounter on a short to medium length expedition. I recommend getting their health up to around 5k (depends on your difficulty) and then put points into melee, speed and stamina. Also very good for gathering chitin and keratin, although not quite as good as a saber (they're cuter though).

Make your own tower if your fighting them cause when you climb a rock sometimes they can get up the rock and attack you or just parkour to a bigger rock that cant be climbed

Taming a Direwold won't be easy becomes they come in packs and can usually be with other creatures like daemons. All you need is a argent and grab one of the wolves but make a trap first before doing this. And bola it, tranq it or club it and give it its preferred kibble or any kind of meat.

A small pack can take on a mid level rex. I plan to get more so I can shred some alphas

Perfect for protecting your base, or getting prime to tame better predators. My 3 killed a level 35 rex no problem. All three had riders.

They are fast,agile and can pack a punch, they are good if you have one, and amazing if you have a lot, plus they are basically rideable DOGS, how amazing is that? 10/10 worth taming

If you don't need a saddle for it, why dou you need a saddle for most creatures like raptors. Or a saddle for something like Dire Bears or Wolly rhinos. Heck why do you need a Rex saddle.
