Tips & Strategies

What are tips for diplodocus? Tips and strategies for diplodocus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Welcome to my series, Tips for Mobile!
Today we will cover the passive taming method.
DISCLAIMER: I play on easier difficulty. All of my tips are based on what I have experienced. You may have a different experience.
Taming Supplies
- Mejoberries (just take as many as you can, also to feed you as you may be there awhile)
- A weapon to defend yourself and/or your soon-to-be tame.
Instructions
- Go up to it and feed mejoberry.
- Wait.
- Repeat.
Notes
- The first feed is the longest.
- Between feeds, it will hit you and knock you back, but in my case, I took no damage.
- Find something to keep behind you so you dont get yeeted into orbit
For some reason there the only big creature (other than dreadnaugtus) that can survive falling off a cliff
These guys are amazing despite their inability to attack.
Get a high level one and you’ll have around 15k health and 1500 weight when tamed. They can carry a lot and move surprisingly quickly. I use mine for metal runs and can carry at least 1k metal.
Just remember to bring some small carnivores like raptors for protection!
I Mean At Least Let It Destroy Structures Up Till Wood
I have three of this. They push raptors away from my bace and they threw a spino of a cliff trying to protect me the spino is dead
If you are trying to tame it, try to get on the base of its tail and it’ll carry you around and not be able to hit you
I was able to get on the tail and ride around on him feeding him as needed just stay crouched. Also it’s a long time between first feed to second feed after that it was normal. Easy pest.
I recommend getting a soothing balm when taming it on berries it only goes up like three % even on mejoberrys so I got a soothing balm and fed it to him and now it goes up like 35% each time I feed him my dippy name is mango I almost tame a therizinosaurus with him but I ran out of biotoxin and it killed me
Make sure you always have the high ground. “Playing” with you involves knocking you backward, often over a cliff.
The questuon thats been plaging me since i settled on herb island is how to transport my diplos to herb island (the island to the southeast of the main island) with a raft. Is it impossible? put a tip with #raftdiplodilemma to help me out here pls.
This creature is very useful for getting reapers, basilisks, and perlovia out of the ground. The wild ones can do the same things as the tamed ones. These things are very useful for getting hidden loot. Just fly around maps with an argy with a tamed parasaur in its talons on turret mode so it can find the enemy dinos. Once you find one, lure a diplo or pull a tamed one out of a cryopod and push the dino out of the ground. If the enemy dino is on passive, proceed to kill it with your argy or any dino gates that has decent melee. BOOM! You have someone else's hidden loot.
transport for large tribes with large terrritories over large grassland, runs fast and is easy to tame. its saddle can carry plenty of tribemates and they can carry descent weight, but they are terrible in terms of offense as they only give a forceful push, but if you push enemy's of a cliff that would be more effective, overall rated a 5.2 for me, mobile and conveniant, but lacking in other aspects.
Most playful suckers I have ever met and still too this day. My listro only does tricks. This guy loves to get physical.
Guys they are passive tame BUT! They can be feed when unconscious you can feed it with berries i just shoot it with trand arrows with bow then get knocked out then i feed it
If passive taming you can stand in a specific spot under the front-middle portion of its belly and it will continuously try to boop you but it won't be able to reach you, allowing you to just stand there until it wants its feedings.
It's better to just trap these things for getting diplo egg instead of taming.
The nonviolent stuff is better.
It's does not take longer, uses less resources (barely only arrows) and yeah is peacefully
