Tips & Strategies

What are tips for diplodocus? Tips and strategies for diplodocus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Just caught my first diplo today not that hard. He was already half health after a battle with some raptors and dilos . Used 20 tranq arrows and with some patience it was knocked out use mejo beries and if doing starve taming i recommend waiting for at least 20 minutes if its level 15-20 . That's what I did to be exact
A diplo is such a good exploring mount in multi player because one player moves the diplo while all the other players shoot of the sides of the diplo i tested this with my tribe and we destroyed our enemies tribe and the the enemies rexes got killed in seconds because of our ascendant pump action shotguns best of all the diplo never came close to death and the loot was insane one vault had two titanosaurus saddles
Just go close to him and he'll yeet you & your fellow tames outta orbit!
If you stand underneath his front legs he will head butt repeatedly and you can just stand underneath and feed him. Easy to tame (:
If you want to pasively tame this guy, you can place yourself somewhere where he can't knock you away. He doesn't do any damage at all, so placing yourself with the back against a big wall would stop him from throwing you. All you need is a lot of patience and mejorberry
Taking this sauropod is no joke, but here are some tips to help you out:
1. Knockout taming is a little easier, and faster, however, it requires much more food, and in passive taming, the effectiveness is higher, either is ok, so choose one that works for you, I just prefer passive taming it
2. I highly recommend a trap, knocking it out would be difficult without, and could kill you, if it knocks you off a cliff. In passive, any time it is hit by a wild creature, it resets the taming bar, so a trap is essential, especially the higher level it is.
3. Honestly Mejos work great, but are a lot slower, yet easier to get than kibble. Effectiveness is near perfect with them so don’t worry.
4. If passive taming, you can stand slightly farther back than its back legs, and it will try to hit you and be unable, so it will keep trying to hit, and you can stand there forever, feeding it
5. After the first feed (in passive taming), it needs to wait around 15 to 25 minutes (in my experience) before it eats again. Then it is around 20 seconds, unless its hunger is full, in which case it will let you feed it again when it goes down enough for whatever food you are using.
Hope this was helpful, happy taming!
I don't know why they are aggressive when you go close to them.
For some reason there the only big creature (other than dreadnaugtus) that can survive falling off a cliff
If you up it's movement to 150, its guaranteed to out run any Dino. Perfect for scouting or unleashing a guerilla assault with friends!
Easiest way to tame these is to build a 4 by 4 with door frames 2 high all the way around. The diplo will attack the structures and not you this way you can get right underneath his belly. I prefer to use kibble, berries take way too long. Up if you find this useful
Its not aggressive its just playing your not taking damage just tame it its great. It passively tames. 1 get berries 2 put in hotbar 3 find one 4 tame
Stand behind its front legs in between it cant hit u
Welcome to my series, Tips for Mobile!
Today we will cover the passive taming method.
DISCLAIMER: I play on easier difficulty. All of my tips are based on what I have experienced. You may have a different experience.
Taming Supplies
- Mejoberries (just take as many as you can, also to feed you as you may be there awhile)
- A weapon to defend yourself and/or your soon-to-be tame.
Instructions
- Go up to it and feed mejoberry.
- Wait.
- Repeat.
Notes
- The first feed is the longest.
- Between feeds, it will hit you and knock you back, but in my case, I took no damage.
- Find something to keep behind you so you dont get yeeted into orbit
These guys are amazing despite their inability to attack.
Get a high level one and you’ll have around 15k health and 1500 weight when tamed. They can carry a lot and move surprisingly quickly. I use mine for metal runs and can carry at least 1k metal.
Just remember to bring some small carnivores like raptors for protection!
I Mean At Least Let It Destroy Structures Up Till Wood
I have three of this. They push raptors away from my bace and they threw a spino of a cliff trying to protect me the spino is dead
If you are trying to tame it, try to get on the base of its tail and it’ll carry you around and not be able to hit you
