Tips & Strategies
I was way more intimidated to tame one of these than I should have been... jumped on an argy, killed its tribe, hurt it a little, kept the area clear while feeding it prime meat, ironicly from one of its babies... almost lvl 200 after tame; its a game changer. Thylo on meth.
This things on valguero! When the heck did that happen
did anyone else see this in the val red woods??
WHY AM I SEEING THESE ON VALGUERO?? YES WILD. I THOUGHT THEY WERE ONLY ON LOST ISLAND
They should be omnivores and get a pack buff like raptors dire wolves
Now I am not joking when I say this but I sware I just saw a pack of wild dinopithecus on valguero
Baby baboons ride the adults.
These spawn on valguero! In the process of taming the monkehs to go with my fluffy raptor pack
I tamed a 135 using a net gun and dino gates. Netted it up near a wall, then placed 2 dino gates in a very acute triangle shape (almost totally parallel) to keep it from running around the redwoods while feeding… climbed right out of the top gap of the gates. I think it would work 3 or 4 gates closer together to keep it safer while feeding. Definitely recommend the net gun though. Was very easy to kill the non-alphas while the alpha was safely netted.
Be careful survivers just saw three of these guys rip a high level parcer into shreds the highest level monkey was 50
Good luck

On Val, these guys look different then there lost island varient
Amazing tame! I tamed my first one a while ago when the lost island came out and I LOVED it! It has great speed great stamina good weight max, health better (or as good as) spinos! I can’t remember the exact dmg but I know it is close to thylas or carnos,it can climb! Jump far, throw grenades! Throw poop (I think it disables some tek stuff), and when in the wild they spawn in packs, to tame kill all the Dinopithecus in the pack except the Alpha, then it is a passive tame, I would assume mejoberrys are the best nonkibble but I think they might be omnivores, I forgot, anyway sorry for the long tip, I recommend you tame a pack of these ( I think they have pack bonus to). Have a good day/night!
It's climbing is fast but wild and hard to control. One of the worst things about it is trying to use the spy glass while riding. His head always blocks the view, no matter which direction you look. I find it's best to use the spyglass while climbing on something. His attacks are easily interrupted and it can be difficult to get off an attack while getting hit repeatedly. Recommend you learn how to do jumping ground pounds. It's their most reliable attack and strongest, but doesn't affect flyers. The attack is stronger the higher your falling from. Don't forget the helmet is left behind when you cryopod it. Need to have extras because they get damaged fast.
I’ve read from a couple sources that once you feed the monkey, sometimes it takes up to like 10 minutes before you can feed the second piece so don’t give up guys
