The tale of the shadow phoenixes
Chapter eight.
“So Cole, did you hear about the ball?” James asked, breaking apart Cole’s thoughts. “Huh?” Cole asked, looking up. “Cole? Are you okay? You’ve hardly been talking to me. Wait did you know about the ball and were you thinking about taking someone SPECIAL there?” James teased. Cole blushed. “No! I didn’t know about the ball! I was thinking about something else but you have to promise not to tell my parents I told you.” Cole said, lowering his voice. James grinned. “Don’t worry I won’t tell a soul, I’m great at keeping secrets.” James said, winking. “My parents say that your family is strange and that me, Leah, and Peter need to stay away from y’all.” James face turned serious for a brief moment. James sighed. “Yeah, a lot of people think my family is weird… for good reason.”
“Why?” Cole asked. James opened his mouth then closed it, then looked around opened his mouth and then closed it again. “Never mind that and please don’t listen to your parents. Please Cole…you’re my best friend.” Cole smiled and patted James on the back. “Don’t worry James I’ll never abandon you. Now what were you saying about the ball?” Cole asked his best friend. James’ grin swept back into his face. “Ok so there is a ball tomorrow and most the young people in the town are going so…..me and you need to split up and find a date for the dance.” Cole smiled. “Ok. You’re on.”
Cole hurried of with one specific destination in mind. Finally he came to a small white house. Cole rang the doorbell. *Ding, dong*. The door opened to reveal Arianna. She smiled at him. “Hi Cole. What do you need?” She asked sweetly.

“So what in the world happened here?”
Thick sheriff boots pounded on the blacktop concrete, and the snapping of cameras reverberated throughout the air. Yellow caution tape surrounded the perimeter of Terran High and dozens of police officers were on the scene inspecting the area.
Detective Darren was inspecting a drop of blood with his trusty sidekick, Sam. Detective Darren was a tired-looking fellow who always looked like he was going through crazy hair days. It was as if he was so busy with his work that he couldn’t even be bothered to brush his hair. But he always smelled nice and all the old ladies at the restaurant fawned over him as if he were Adonis himself.
Sam, on the other hand, was a young, bright, and clever lady who was the butter to Detective Darren’s bread. Sparkly blonde hair like Goldilocks that was braided in a ponytail, Sam was always by Detective Darren’s side. It always felt like they were together at all times. A lot of officers at the station speculated that the two had something secret going on. Lovers? Or maybe they were secretly siblings. Many hoped it wasn’t the latter, because then that’d just make things weirder.
“Well hello… Deputy Warren,” Sam sneered as a sheriff approached the two, “What are you doing here? What is a lowly sheriff doing here on the officers’ turf?”
Detective Darren looked at the two of them, then stepped away.
“Should I give you two some space?”
“No. I think you should stay here while I berate this pathetic excuse of a man,” Sam answered while staring at Warren’s face. But Sam’s words made Warren’s heart sting. Warren had ALWAYS wanted to be an officer. But he never passed the bar exam, and he was forced to become a sheriff.
It didn’t really help that the words were coming from his ex-wife.
“Sammy, please-”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Sam. I’m not trying to intrude on anything, okay?! I know you blame me for our son’s death, but I just don’t want our other son to be hurt!” Warren cried, “This is my responsibility just like it is yours-”
“You don’t DESERVE to be Samuel’s father,” Sam shouted back, “Ever since his poor sister passed away he’s never been the same. You changed him, Warren. You can never redeem yourself.”
Warren was silent, and he rubbed his face violently, feeling his heart pump loudly and a clump in his throat.
“Please, Samantha. I just want our son to be safe. I want to find out where he is. I don’t want him to end up the same way. Please, let’s just put our differences aside. You can hate me all you want, but I just want to get to the bottom of this.”
Darren looked at the two of them, then shrugged.
“Well I could help with that.”
Sam looked at Darren and fluttered her eyelashes.
“Of course, Detective. This can be another crime we solve. Why don’t we start by counting up the numbers, how many disappeared?”
“The numbers are pretty high, ma’am. All of the seniors who were set to graduate Terran High disappeared in a flash, including some of the faculty members such as the principal. We could start with the camera evidence, how about that?”
“Of course, Detective. Let’s get to it.”
The two of them walked off, and Warren followed closely behind like some third wheel chump. Warren couldn’t help but feel regret for the whole situation. Two of the sons he had raised, gone, one because of him and the other because of some mysterious circumstance. He hated it.
“I would like to save at least one of my children,” Warren thought as he rubbed his whiskers.
The three made it to the principal’s office, where all of the footage was stored. The door creaked open, making a loud, creepy noise. It was dark and gloomy in there, as if nobody had been in there for a while.
“Turn on the lights, would you, Warren?” Darren said while nodding his head toward the light switch. Warren flicked the switch and an old light bulb flickered on, a buzzing noise radiating throughout the room. It looked like a typical principal’s office.
The only thing that really set it apart from any other school was the fact that there were scratches and markings all over the wooden walls.
“Oh my,” Sam said, gulping at the sight. The markings consisted of strange lines and sketches, some had dinosaurs and others had weird diamond-shaped artifacts that had scribbles all over them. Desperate messages were plastered all over the wall.
“DON’T BRING ME BACK THERE!”
“THE CYCLES.”
“THE PAIN.”
“LET ME OUT.”
“I HAVE TO PREPARE.”
“PREPARE.”
“ALL JUST A GAME!”
“So the principal was off his rocker,” Darren concluded immediately, “You reckon he was responsible for the disappearances?”
“Most likely. But we need more concrete evidence before we can deem him a suspect,” Sam replied. Sam walked up to the desk and turned the computer on. It buzzed as loud as the light bulb, and she plopped down on the office chair. She turned the computer on, and the screen flickered to life.
“I’m going to check the cameras. We’ll get a clue on where they went,” Sam decided.
“But if the principal wanted to get away with it, wouldn’t he clear out any of the evidence? Clearly he didn’t,” Warren pointed out, nodding at the wall, “He left more behind than any serial kidnapper would. Besides, Where would any man hide four hundred soon-to-be adults?”
“No idea, but we’re about to find out. I’m going to request a file for the principal of the school. See if he has any suspicious background,” Darren said. He reached for his walkie-talkie and began to speak some instructions into it, and while he was doing that Warren took his time to walk around the office and take a look at any of the clues that the principal could have left them.
Warren had always been a stickler for details.
“Hmm. These books are dusty and old, as if they hadn’t been touched in ages,” Warren thought as he brushed his fingers along the worn books on a bookshelf. Most had titles that had faded away. But one book stuck out from the others. Clean and smooth, it had a title that made Warren’s eyes squint.
“Tales of Evolution and Survival.”
Warren reached for the book and grabbed it, trying to figure out why this one was foreign from the others, but Sam reached forward and snatched it out of his hands.
“You fool, do you know nothing of the law?” Sam sneered at him, “Don’t mess with anything here. It could be evidence.”
Warren muttered an apology, and put the book back on the shelf. Warren had always loved to read, but he had never heard of any book named “Tales of Evolution and Survival”.
“I’m going to search that name up when I get home,” Warren decided in his thoughts, “Maybe I can figure out the author. Perhaps the principal was engrossed in this book or fellow.”
A ding came from the computer, and all eyes turned to Sam.
“I’ve managed to find an application which records 24/7 footage of everything on campus. Let’s scroll back to the date of the disappearances. When was the date of the disappearances, Darren?”
“May 23rd, so two days ago.”
“Thank you.”
Sam clicked a few buttons on the keyboard, and soon a few videos showed up on the screen.
“Time?”
“9:03 AM, I believe.”
Sam scrolled forward a little bit, and soon a bunch of people showed up on the camera. Hundreds of scholars dressed in graduation robes were counting down. The footage was a little fuzzy, and the audio sounded somewhat corrupted, but as the soon-to-be graduates reached “ONE!”, the principal standing atop the stage let out an ear-piercing scream.
He collapsed to the ground, clutching his left wrist, and soon everyone else followed. Streaks of red, blue, and green burst into a beam upon the blacktop, and then they disappeared.
Darren’s jaw dropped at the sight, and Sam and Warren followed suit.
“What the- Is this really what-”
“Aliens,” Darren whispered with fear in his voice, “I knew they were real!”
“We can’t confirm for sure if they’re aliens. And there’s still some questions hanging in the air. Why did they scream out in pain before getting transported? And what does the beam of light have to do with this?” Sam asked.
Warren was silent at the moment, but he wanted to look over the footage some more before coming to a conclusion.
“Sam, can you forward me the footage? Not just on that camera, but for all of them. I want to see what else I can pick up,” Warren requested. Sam looked at Warren with a frown the size of Saturn and flipped him off.
“Okay, I guess I’ll take that as a no.”
“Don’t worry, Warren,” Darren reassured him, “I’ll give them to you. Just check your email sometime, I’ll send it to you there.”
“Okay, well at least ONE person isn’t praying for my downfall,” Warren murmured. He pointed to the door, “I’m going to leave now. Samantha, please, tell me if you find anything.”
“Fine.”
Warren exited the office and sighed, putting his hands in his uniform’s pockets and looking up at the bright sky. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming.
“It’s a beautiful day outside,” Warren muttered to himself.
But Warren couldn’t deny it. His son was missing, and every second wasted was a second that Samuel could die.
Just like his other child.
Careful while passive taming!!!
On mobile, I was taming a BEAUTIFUL navy and brown lvl 22 female otter at the swamp/redwoods border with one of these guys on my shoulder. Being the swamp/redwoods, it wouldn’t be safe to have my soon-to-be otter friend just follow me home, and I couldn’t carry her with my barry. Taking all of this into consideration, I tossed the dimorph off my shoulder so I could pick the otter up when she was done taming. What I didn’t know was that passive tames (as you are taming them) are classified as targets, and my dimorphodon was set to attack target. She didn’t drop anything, so no implant revivals either. Pls up for my untamed otter, and so others don’t make the same mistake. :’(
Protectors of Pandora
Chapter 11 ~campfire stories with a side of kabab~
(it’s the 30th chapter!🎉🥳)
The group trekked/flew through the jungle, led by their guide, the makhawk chief’s daughter. “So I never got your name.” Nash said. “It’s Skyla.” She said. “So do you know where we are headed?” He continued. “I am guiding you somewhere aren’t I?” Skyla said.
They continued through the thick forest for another hour, then they made camp. One of the sea serpents cooked a delicious smoked salmon over the fire, and they ate appreciatively. “Ahh, your the besst cook I ever had Fin.” Seascale said, Fin nodded and went back to his food, Nash told a thrilling campfire story and just as he was getting to the hood part they heard- “WAIT NO PLEASE!! AAH- *sound of a flaming spike hitting a tree* “what was that..” Nash said. “Quickly! Put out the fire!” Skyla said in a hushed panic. “Hello?” A voice said. “Is someone there?” “Oh ~Insert profanity here~ Everyone hide the fish!” Skyla said in the same hushed tone, the serpents panicked and just threw the fish behind them, then something came out of the trees followed by two others, it was kind of like a diplodocus but with large spikes on its head and neck, Nash assumed this was an “amargasaurs”
And he noticed that the one that came into view first had a missing spike, though another was rapidly growing to replace it, that amarga opened its mouth and said; “well hello there.. travelers.. what brings you into this neck of the woods??” “Uh we are just passing through.” Skyla said. “Oh I see, and.. what have you.. been eating??” He said the last words with a very threatening tone. “Uh, oh nothing just berries.!” Skyla said, Nash could tell she was terrifie, and he didn’t think she was wrong. “just berries??” The amargasaurs said, he looked a little behind and to the left of them and saw the leftover fish, his face immediately went to a horrific expression, it was like if insanity could be a face. “You know what I think.. I think your LIARS! And CARRNIVORESS!” He said, his spikes starting to heat up. “Uhh sir I’m afraid you are v-very disturbed- Er mistaken! We are just kindly herbivores, ni harm here!” Nash said. “Then why do your friends have FANGS?!” The amargasaurus said. Nash looked at Skyla and said; “Good point uh Skyla why do they hav- RUNN!!”
-Writers note- I got the idea for the homicidal maniac amargasaurus’ because if you’ve ever played lost island you know that these things will literally murder anything that eats meat, like they will hunt down anything that moves unless it eats grass.
I had a white dimorphodon, who I never even named. We did caves together, and he destroyed everything in sight. He was high level and had very high damage. But it all came crashing down one day in the lava cave. We were almost at the artifact, and I hadn’t even been touched by anything. The dimorph was finishing off a few scorpions and spiders. Only then did I realize that his torpor was rising, fast. I knew he would go unconscious in a few seconds, and I tried to get him to land. An Onyx flew out of nowhere, and the dimorph chased it, protecting me. They flew over a lava pit, fighting. The onyx fell into the lava, dead. The dimorph tried to return to me, but passed out over the lava. I never saw him again.
Blanco’s Story:
Hi, im Blanco, a small dimorphodon, you might see a few of my friends round the beaches and open areas! But i was hatched by a human, my mother and father didnt bother for me but only my brother, verus, he was bigger and darker than me, i’m a white dimorphodon with a few grey spots, while my brother is a navy blue colour with tinges of red. Our human was rather friendly to all dinosaurs, but my favourite was Lyria the equus! She was very friendly and our human would let me sit on her shoulder while she went out with Lyria, i would always fly round while following our human.
I loved seeing the dinosaurs of all colours, i never fully understood why the stegosaurus always sticked together, or the diplodocus pushed trees down, but it was amazing to see them. Our human would always let me dive for small fish or dodo’s, it was so fun! Lyria would protect our human while i targeted bigger things with the raptors!
It was a stormy day when our human took me, lyria, the raptor squad and tiny the carnosaur out to look for another carno, i was flying behind lyria, the raptor squad and Tiny, they were super fast! I tried keeping up but when they went into the forest i lost them..it was slightly scary, there were so many herbivores round, i gained some altitude before looking for a tall tree to land in.
Swooping down out the way of a quetzalcoatlus i clawed onto a tree as best i could. Climbing was hard but eventually i got onto a fairly strong branch and took cover in the leaves, i watched the open space for my human. I knew she’d come and find me!
Its been many nights…i know the human will come get me! I’d made a friend who usually hung out round the tree i temporarily stayed in, her name was Ayl and she was a young Allosaurus, we’d become friends over me fallling from my branch and landing ontop her prey, we’d become a good team in hunting, i couldnt help much but if Ayl needed my help i’d try my best!
Ayl was super friendly to me, she taught me how to become free, saying i was held captive by my softness for humans…
i still think my human will come for me, but until then Ayl is my family.
I bred up a flock of Dimorphs, imprinted and didn’t level any. There was about 15 in the flock, and I got them following my Snow Owl. We went about killing everything (I was testing them- I wanted to put 1-3 flocks of Dimorphs following a Snow Owl to clear beaches from Pegos and Seagulls, I was seeing if they could handle Stegos and Brontos that agroed in any crossfires- and boy was I right) and when I whistled them to attack a Stego herd, they skeletonised it in under 10 seconds. These things are demons- they were imprinted but unlevelled and a flock of 15 (with mate boost) did about 150 damage each, together they tore through Alpha Raptors, Brontos, Stegos- everything I could find. We took minimal casualties at the lightning trench, two wyverns (a 114 and a 210) got eaten alive in about 5 minutes, the unbred ones were the only ones that died. An imminent server restart forced our killing spree to end and we went back to base. I’m now breeding mutations into them so my army can grow in strength.
For all those beach bobs who are plagued by Pegos, join the server I’m on for your troubles to end
I joined my first pop server one day a few years ago and decided that since people like you troll people by being a "Mana Man" and kill freshspawns with a high lvl mana, I wanted to be known as the Dimorph man. So I spent days of breeding and was able to get green dimorphs that did dmg somewhere in the ballpark of 200 max and went around setting about 20 of these guys at once on aggressive next to alpha tribe bases and successfully killed a fricking lvl 250 racer with 3 people on it with 0 casualties. Want to anger alpha tribes? Raise dimorphs and set them to aggressive on big bases. After that I wasn't griefed or raided for months.
My spino, Spoon, was crossing the river by the redwoods. Dimorphs overspawn there like crazy. There’s AT LEAST 100 there. He was fighting a piranha. Obviously his AOE hit several. Let’s note: he had over 1000 hp and 175% melee. There were no high lvl dimorphs involved (this is on easy difficulty) all under lvl 10. About 10sec later he died. WHAT THE F—
I will never forget what they done to me. They couldn’t hurt me physically, but they knew they can hurt me mentally….. my sweet falcon…. we were peacefully inside the swamps…. looking for my dropped aky…. soon I found one of my old boats that was lost because I got knocked out and killed… I was going to get the boat home, but somehow a group of sarco came out of nowhere…. in suddenly one accidental attack on one of these guys….. next, you know, I see a hole army of these attacking my poor falcon in the air to high to be called back down…. first, I thought my falcon had it in the bag because how many times we killed them…. but I didn’t realize that was because I was on it…. and I saw the worst thing that any men can see…. One of his best creatures go ragdoll….. made me cry for days. Rip for Falcon, he was the best….

Dodo tales (S2 Ep7)
Thinking about doing another prequel, but for Jerry...his origins must be explained!
The two men dragged Rick until they arrived at a "run down ol' shack" as one of the gaurds called it. They put a ball and chain on his leg, and he asked "If you let me out I'll do your job for you! You can just rest and I'll gaurd the gates." The gaurds were apparently stupid, so they thought a break from work would be nice, since they'd been working for 4 hours straight, so they let Rick go and gave him their armor and weapons, which he unfortunately killed them with. "That was too easy!" Rick said, laughing. "Now what?" He thought
* * * * * * * *
Meanwhile, Ares snatched up the Artifact. "What was that?!?" The Sergeant asked, because he had caught a glimpse of it.
"Uh, um...A NAPKIN!" Ares said very nervously
"So napkins glow green?" Said sergeant with a grin. "Uhhh...it's Glow in the dark?" Ares tried. "It's not dark for one, AND THAT'S NOT A NAPKIN!" Sergeant yelled.
So.. When I was semi-noob I always tamed a bunch of these which was cool, then I bred my first dimorph (Nightodon she’s a female who has cool black color) to another dimorph which was green and then when I was trying to hatch it, I gave up and placed it in my preserving bin. Next was the fall of the squad where they all died to fighting something to the death.. next was losing Nightodon I logged off while she was on my shoulder I looked for ages and couldn’t find her and gave up.. one had the same accident and when I heard attack music I saw a bronto fighting a dimorph and it was one of the dimorphs but died sadly. For years I finally found Nightodon just on the rock islands chilling waiting for my return I took her to my new base and was glad to see her. Then I took the same egg Nightodon laid on my preserving bin and Hatched it with a cooking pot, campfire, and a refining forge. Her name was greenodon after her fathers name.
