Utility Tips

What is a dilophosaur used for? dilophosaur battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
A pack of 10+ dilos is probably one of the best things to have below lvl35, 10+ dilo packs can be quite effective against many dinos on the beach being able to shred a turtle in seconds and the spit prevents them from escaping. Just maybe watch out for murder turkeys and spinos.
Definitely the easiest carnivore to tame, and one of the easiest to breed as well ;
And listen to me carefully : they're so useful, when you're low lv
I have a pack of 6, and they easily take out even spinos...
So useful, to defend your base, or even raiding ;
so small, and fast, plus blinding hability make them almost impossible to hit, specially once breeded...
When a dilo spits at you there is high chance of not dodge anything.If you get spit at quickly hit the dilo and keep track of a it's movements.You should be able to dodge if your finger is fast enough because the dilo opens it's frill before it spits.If you did not hit a herbivore and it's running it probably means there is a carnivore around.
Surprisingly useful even when you've moved on to tame carnos and stegos, especially with some higher levels. A couple of mate boosted dilos leveled only in health can be great hunting companions, as their spit slows even the fastest dino to a jog that you can outrun easily. (Level health so that they can attack first before u do and take the damage for u.) With so many large creatures unaffected by bolas and bear traps being expensive and unreliable, dilos can be a good, if not great substitute. As a last resort, u can always let them slow the creature that's too powerful to kill while u make a run for it. : )
While it may not seem much at first, these Dilos are really easy to tame mid game. This allows you to stock up your tamed dilos and effectively form a whole army of them. I have like 20 Dilos at relatively low levels, and even then I can kill most of the beginning to mid game creatures. Just command them to attack something and they will swarm the hell out of that poor creature.
Mobile Version Tip
They are like raptors for beginners, fast nimble with decent health, I suggest getting a small pack... In later stages of the game they turn into more of a support class with their ability to poison a target, forcing them to stay still with no capability to defend itself for a short time, enough time for the rest of your dinos to critically damage the enemy. I suggest looking out for raptors quickly as they are no match for most herbivores you will find on the beach.
A quick guide for all the ark mobile players out there :)
Taming - get a bit of distance between you two, then shoot a slingshot until unconscious. Add meat to inventory and wait.
Utility - It is weak alone, but when in groups of 6-10, it can beat trikes, turtles, paras, and sometimes castoroides. Its acid spit can slow down parasaurs and other creatures prone to run.
Stats - Health is low unless levelled up, good stamina, damage is good in swarms, and harvesting capabilities is pretty good.
It is a pretty swell early game swarm creature and with the spit makes it an important dino for hunting parties.
