Taming a low level is quite easy. With your stone pick, Kill dodos and/or lystros. With all creatures, kill creatures that might kill the creature you are taming. The best way to get raw meat is killing small dinos. Then,find a dilo. Knock it out with your fists or craft a wooden club to knock it out. Put the meat into the dilo’s inventory wait… and you tamed one! Like if this helped :D

Don't worry, you are able to easily out run this creature if you do not wish to tame or kill it. Just keep enough distance between you and it so it can't spit on you.

For those of you annoyed by these, if you hear a dilo hiss, immediatly start jumping like a rabbit (if you cannot time your jump right before the poison spit) and the spit will ho way above you

Don’t waste bolas on them! They are really easy to tame without a bola, just if your low level make sure there’s only one of them

Hi, Ee here, I made another, more accurate guide to taming a Dilo.

Step 1: Punch the Dilo till it’s knocked out. It’s not as strong as you may think.

Step 2: Give it meat, prime meat or kibble. Depends on what you have or can get.

There. Simple, eh?

Dealing with one is simple, you can see their spit animation then dodge and pelt it with rocks or throw spears at its face. Just be aware that when facing multiple your priority is always dodging the spit attack, as that is what will allow them to catch up and kill you.

Pain in the backside early game. Craft a couple of spears and kill them

Do not use a stone pick or you will most likely kill it. Pls like so more people can see this tip.

It's pretty easy to tame

1. Bola it (so it can't chase you)

2. Use a slingshot or a club (I call them beaty sticks) to knock it out

3. Add some meat (it shouldn't take much)

Also, remember to dodge the poison spit

Oh also you should have one they kill titanboas. I had one named dila and I lost her in the swamp and she didn’t come back out until I was getting attacked by a titanboa 5 months later lol let this be a useful tip for you in ark, good luck!

When they go to spit hit or shoot them in the head and jump to the side they will aim up and miss you.

These are really easy to tame just dodge their spit and bash them with your fists or club

I tamed three dilo, Two female and a male. I named the male Alpha dilo and he was the strongest and High level in the pack. Other two were Dilo vrex and Dilo Dilo krex. They are very good at pack hunting in early games. You can also hunt creatures like bronto just let the pack distract the bronto and you only have to attack from a distance with your bow.(make sure to spend a good amount of points in Health and Melee.)

A dilophosaur is a nice tame early game. The dilophosaur is a carnivore so it eats meat. They typically spawn near or at the beaches of Ark. You can knock they out with your fists but I would consider that ineffective. I suggest using a slingshot to shoot from a distance. The dilophosaur has a short search distance and low health so it isn't to much of a danger. Using a club to KO is nice to I just suggest having light armour and points upgraded in health. After knocking it out put raw meat or raw fish meat in inventory. I usually sacrifice a nearby dodo for meat. It will eat meat and its tame meter will go up. After its reached 100% you will have a dilophosaur! They can kill dodos for you and defend you against compys and other dilophosaur.

Up so noobs can see.

Use an axe and face-tank it, if there are two then get better.

Don’t try to fight them with your fists

These make great pack animals early game. Tame 4-5 and you can kill just about any trouble early game.

Dilos are soooo easy to tame

So firstly, make sure you have at least 5 pieces of meat on you

Then, find a Dilo (I would recommend finding one that’s alone or away from other Dilos as it could alert others)

You can either use your fists or a club to knock it unconscious

Once unconscious, use the meat to tame the Dilo

And now you should have a Dilo!

These are great in packs, early game they can be a pain so spears are needed!

Easy tame method

Need-spear,bolas,bat amd fresh meat

1)poke it and run backwards

2)bolas him since his runing your way

3)knock out with bat

4)put meat in inventory (more meat higher lv)

5)protect it till its tamed

Boom u have a dilo!

Set it on neutral so it will protect u when get hit but wont attack other dilo automaticly and enable "wont target unconscious" so it wont kill ur other knockout dilos

Then repeat to form urself a pack of them! Its fun to watch them slaughter medium dinos

Watch out for there acid it can blind you
