Tips & Strategies

What are tips for dilophosaur? Tips and strategies for dilophosaur in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
My friend is terrified of them. I kill them for fun.
Dilos are easy to encounter and they make great bodyguards!
To tame one, knock it out(u will need to dodge venom) and then feed it about 15 meat. Taming only takes about a minute so u can have a good defence against raptors! My team has 3 dilos in it 1 parasaur and 1 pteradon and the dilos did most of the work defending against raptors!
You can jump away when it starts to spit or just jump
Hi, Ee here, I made another, more accurate guide to taming a Dilo.
Step 1: Punch the Dilo till it’s knocked out. It’s not as strong as you may think.
Step 2: Give it meat, prime meat or kibble. Depends on what you have or can get.
There. Simple, eh?
How to tame:
1. Have at least 5 meat in inventory (to be prepared).
2. Find a dilophosaur (I don’t suggest finding a group if you’re a low level and don’t have many weapons).
3. Knock out dilophosaur.
4. Give dilophosaur 3 of your meat (that’s usually how much they need) but they might need a bit more, if so add the other two pieces.
5. You have a dilophosaur!
I hope this helps anyone looking for a dilophosaur. Also, they spit poison, so be careful!
You CAN easily knock this out with your hands. You just need good aiming. Circle it so it can’t spray you with poison and punch it no level nedeed
I don't recommend a club because they keep hitting you back. To kill, use a Spear or bow (or really any weapon.) and to tame, fists or slingshot if you don't want to get close. Feed meat to tame and bam. To harvest, use pick for more meat and hatchet for more hide
I tame dilos and the try to kill velicraptors how can the velicaraptor is stronger than dilos
Fists are an easy knock out and they take very little meat however they get hungry easily. Good for hunting and adventuring. My 3 saved my life quite a bit.
They are a really good starting tame. Just get a bunch of them.
On their own, Dilophosaurs aren’t really useful, but in packs of 5 or more, they are extremely deadly. Also, their spit doesn’t just blind prey; it drains their stamina and drops their movement speed dramatically.
Taming a low level is quite easy. With your stone pick, Kill dodos and/or lystros. With all creatures, kill creatures that might kill the creature you are taming. The best way to get raw meat is killing small dinos. Then, find a dilo. Knock it out with your fists or craft a wooden club to knock it out. Put the meat into the dilo’s inventory wait… and you tamed one! Like if this helped :D
Don’t waste bolas on them! They are really easy to tame without a bola, just if your low level make sure there’s only one of them
Alright. I suggest, to dodge the spit, waiting right before it locks onto you and jumping out of the way. After that, either pelt it with rocks or beat it with a stick. Afterwards, I suggest making sure your tames are on passive. Two of my early-game dodos killed one of these I was trying to tame so I could hunt.
After, bam. You have a half poisoned velonasur half raper but weaker than both of those things. I suggest getting more than one or leveling one up until I becomes ultra instinct.
It’s easy.
If you want to get one early get a Woden Club.
Knock it out.
Shove raw meat into its mouth.
If it is about to spit, jump. They don't factor gravity in the jump so you will fall down before the spit reaches you. Same can be done horizontally. Their spit is their only card so if you can avoid their spit you can't die from them...
