Tips & Strategies

What are tips for dilophosaur? Tips and strategies for dilophosaur in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
If hes ready to spit you gotta move the other way you are moving (when he spits) and then go all in
Tip for beginners- if you see one and it looks at you and puffs up it’s frills, jump to the side or towards it. Great beginner tames
in the mobile version you get the TRANQ arrows at lvl 21 so I’d suggest Taming a moschops (or DODO so it can be bait so you can run away) and you should probably use a club sips you don’t got tranqs
For mobile I think there ai can be a bit buggy so if you go side to side while hitting them with a club you can knock them out but they can still hit you just not always with the acid it can still happen so don't think as a fact
Hit once then back away and repeat
My sure-fire way to winning a dilo fight is to keep closing the distance between you and the dilo so that you are TOO CLOSE TO BE SPRAYED!
When it turns and hisses at you, you have two options based on its distance. If it’s close to you then close the distance and beat it down. If it is far from you than back away until you are out of range of its venom and let it shoot it’s venom first. Then close the distance fast and hammer it.
The key is to just keep chasing it and pounding on it. Never let it spray.
When it blinds you, chase it’s stat block and continue the beat down.
Tamping these are easy and are really useful first I recommend using a club and having raw meat but be careful because they shoot poise. It does not do a lot of damage but it blinds you
Training them alone won’t make them nearly strong enough to take on bigger threats, due to level restrictions (health only goes up by 7 maybe 14 per level, so on so fourth) So your best bet is to train two of these guys of opposite gender to equal capacity in the stats of your personal interest, breed until you have hatched two Dilophosaurs of opposite gender, and then repeat with the new ones. Rinse and repeat until you have one (or two if you want male and female) of the stats you desire. Use Lystrosauruses to speed up the training progress, so that way you don’t find yourself waiting an entire month before your Dilophosaurs are ready for breeding.
I find clubs work the best to knockout a dilo
More agro starter tame meat bola and copl clubs should do the trick.
You should have said the magic word. Bring an emergency eye washing kit.
When you upgrade them speed is probably best as they are very slow and easy to out run
If you encounter and die to them frequently try upgrading your HEALTH and MELEE DAMAGE on your next few lvls
Dodex lies because I tamed a lvl 60 dilo and it took 5 minutes they saying it takes 10 minutes!!!
Tame a bunch and put them in each lvl of your base so when someone comes in they literally eat spit
Terrible range can block poison with shield very hard to kill in packs of 4 or more
The best way to tame a dilo early game is to weave about so it can not hit you with its spit attack, just after it spits at you run in and start trying to knock it out ( punching works if there is no alternative) repeat this proses every ten seconds to avoid the spit . On a final note choose which dilo to attack carefully because you can easily be swarmed if there are any other dilos in the area
Listen I love these guys they are my best friend/anti villain okay I will tell a good part and bad part about my experience with them bad part:when I was a level 4 and had tamed 3 dodos I was just chilling when it said dodo lvl 5 killed by dilo lvl 8 I was like what? I went outside and scared it off i cried the rest of the night about my dodo the next night I was just stuffing the loot in my chest when the same dilo started to attack my thatch wall I went outside to see it killed my last two dodos and in revenge I killed the dilo about a week later I was now level 7 and had tamed a cobenaymus a dilo came again and I killed it before it killed stella
