Make a herd, they are very dangerous in groups

To knock it out use your fists its easy and to tame it find a parasaur or another dilo and kill it,take the meat,and just put atleast 2 or 3 pieces of meat in its inventory and you should have yourself a dilo.

I find it's easiest to use a slingshot to knock these out. It's safer than punching them and it only takes a few shots to the head. If you're good at dodging the spit, you can knock out and tame a whole pack in minutes.

Beginner invincibility (does not work with underwater enemies) :

I had a raptor problem and got like 12 of these guys and shredded the poor raptor and only lost one dilo

How to tame:

Get bow

Shoot dilo 80 with stone arrows

Give it meat

AND YOU TAMED IT

There's no one way to handle these, they're pretty much a non-issue if you have a crossbow.

I recommend crafting a bow and arrow and shooting them from afar. As far as I know no they cannot jump far if at all so make sure that the rock is only climbable by jumping (no natural ramps) or they will kill you. They will run into the rock directly below you and try to spit but since they cannot spit vertically you will be safe be careful aiming when they are below you so as not to waste arrows they will at times walk away shortly leaving an opening TAKE THE SHOT! This refers to killing a dilo for taming use the rock method but with a bola and club DO NOT ATTRACT IT THIS TIME! It is harder to aim with a bola !

They took out one of those turtle things on the beach! They saved my life from a dil right before in a second! Defo worth it!!

Dilophourus are so annoying they dont leave you alone there spit is so annoying too it keeps killing me i hate it

So one day I was just playing ark and I was returning home from a trip and a raptor comes out of nowhere are started atacking me I got on a rock and killed it then I took my dilo (named sauce) and started going home when a raptor again came out of nowhere and I couldn’t get on a rock it jumped on me and my dilo spit at it and hit it making the raptor get off me and since she spit at it the raptor was slow and I shot it with my bow
