More Dilophosaur Utility Tips
Fists can easily knock a Dilo out. There spit can help you hunt or defend you from other survivors. In groups of 3 or more they are dangerous.
Put a bunch of stone on them and put them on your roof on aggressive and you have a spit turret
Low on hide? Dont worry
Tame 2-4 of these make em aggressive and enable wandering they can also protect ur base
Up so everyone can see
A good first defensive game. Their acid attack slows all dinosaurs and can be a lifesaver early to mid game.
Alone not very affective but I once had a group of 7 and they took out a carno with easy as well as other aggressive creatures
This is a very over looked tame. I have a pack of 10 and they were all tamed at 150s. Set them all on a lvl 105 rex to actually get them killed to decrease my tame cap. And they murdered the rex lol
β’ULTIMATE DILO GUIDE
TAME:
β’10-20 Raw meat.
β’One slingshot.
β’Only use bat if you have at least 120 health.
β’Bola if you have access to it. (Not necessary, recommended.)
You will usually find these in packs, try to kill all the dilos nearby first, they will defend the one you try to tame.
Attack it by it's back, never stay nearby the head, they'll split poison at your face if you do.
(In case you are using a slingshot, headshot it, but try to dodge it's split, when it opens it's mouth and frills, it's about to split.)
(Use bola if you have it. Be aware that it can still split when trapped.)
Once knocked out, open the inventory. Put about 16 raw meat.
(Some of the raw meat isn't for taming, it's for feed.)
There, you have your own dilo.
UTILITIES:
Can hunt down stuff like dodos or compy packs for you. Be aware that it has fairly low damage and health, needs a pack to hunt bigger, agressive things.
CAN ALSO HUNT:
β’Lystosaurus
β’ Moschops (In pack)
β’Parasaurs (In pack)
β’Pachys (In 5+ dilo packs)
Pros:
β’High speed, can blind enemy.
Can hunt things like dodo β’quickly.
β’Quick taming.
β’Quick breeding.
Cons:
β’Will likely die to most dinos if not in pack.
β’Fairly low health and damage.
β’Can't mount.
BREEDING:
Build storage boxes around them, if you don't have acess to storage boxes yet build a one by one thatch house. (Roof not necessary but recommended.)
Enable wandering.
HATCHING:
Needs 3 campfires, putting torch on egg recommend.
Hatches fairly quick, put about 30 meat on baby's inventory.
Make sure to imprint.
PROTECTING YOUR DINO:
Make sure you have a base with spike walls around your base as soon as possible, A dilo can be killed by literally anything on passive mode. If you can't put them inside your thatch base.
Put 5-10 meat on each dilo's inventory, make sure to replace it every 2-4 days.
These things are honestly hard to find a use for. Their best ability is the spit and while itβs amazingly strong. Itβs also not realistic to expect it to land every time.
Having a lot is good, but what Dino is bad when u have a lot of them?
If you really must use these I recommend setting them up for close quarters traps. As a support for another Dino to finish the job.
Level whatever, though making it a glass canon is probably best. Unless you desire it to breathe forever.
It's better to tame a male and female to produce eggs in order to make kibble for a dodicurus or an ankylo. Those are good for collecting stone or flint and metal.
I have an army of 12 of these babies. Itβs epic. Highly recommend
