Just bash it over the head with a club as long as its not high level if you're a fresh character. Then just feed it a couple dodos worth of meat (bring more just in case) and it'll be the easiest carnivore to tame and its insanely good if you have a pack of them early game.

Please have your following distants at low or medium because if it’s at high or higher your Dino will not follow you for a long time and if it’s at lowest your Dino will follow you even wen you move just a little

Tame 21 dilos. They will kill everyone who will eat their food and they can kill chalicotheriums and sarcos or Carnos and raptors.

Dilo spit slows things down its the best way to hunt turtles early on.

If you don't they can be pack hunters

if your new to the game and you see one just run don't go near them

My favourite new game tame, a small pack of 3-4 between levels 30 and 70 can take out low and mid level sarcos and raptors. Follow the guide below and tame an army of dilos. IMPORTANT this tactic can take some practice to master but when you do you will be tamming level 280 dilos at level 7.

Firstly why I like them so much is because they're quick, high damage (for a early game combat team), and they have a spit ability which decreases their targets speed (with multiple dilos enemy's will almost be stuck in place)

Alright now, first thing you want to do is reach level 2 so you can craft the club, and remember to gather plenty of meats.

Step 1: be in first person view.

Step 2: Craft 2-4 clubs and equip them on your hotbar.

Step 3: Find a dilo with a level lower than 160 (if it's to strong run!). Avoid groups or try to lure 1 away at a time.

Step 4: When it's aggro walk backwards, as it gets close hit it with your club, if timed right the dilo will be knocked back without being able to attack (this is what takes some practice to master but its the most important part). FYI do this walking in circles.

Step 5: repeat Step 4 until it's unconscious, and remember to keep any other dinos you tammed at a distance so they don't kill it.

Step 6: place meats in the dilos inventory and keep an eye on it, use narco berries to keep it asleep if needed (place narco in its inventory and select "feed", feed it 4 narco's at a time).

Step 7: name your new dilo.

Step 8: reach level 7.

Step 9: unlock bola engram and craft 2 stacks of bola's (20).

Step 10: equip both stacks of bola's on your hotbar (you still need your 4 clubs equipped on hotbar to).

Step 11: find level 280 dilo.

Step 12: bola level 280 dilo, if it gets lose, bola it again.

Step 13: repeat steps 1 through 7.

Armor not required but it helps.

Dodo eggs directly restore health when eaten so having a few tammed dodo birds will provide you with those.

Remember to equip eggs on the hotbar for easy use during a fight.

Last bit of advice watch the dilo, when it stops moving and erects its neck frills it means it's going to spit, keep walking backwards or to the side, when you see it spit keep moving and jump, if done correctly you will avoid the attack altogether. If the spit hits you, you will suffer a huge movement and visual debuff and then it's pretty much over for you from there.

They can open and close doors even if a different person’s door!

So Dilos are pretty common so you could easily find one. Carry a club with you and kill a few dodos so you can get meat. Then find a dilo (like I said before it’s easy to find one), knock it out with the club, and feed it meat (I think you only need 2-3). And you got a tamed dilo!

If you guys are a new player that spawns in a beach, try to avoid these guys as much as possible, and try to get a spear first if you want to challenge one.

these guys are pretty easy to kill when you get some metal gear.

How to knock out and tame Dilo:

1 Find Dilo

2 Get club out

3 Yeetus Deleteus it

4 Put up to 7 raw meat

5 Name it (Name suggestion: Spitfire)

6 Enjoy

If you have at least 5 of them many early game creature is literaly a dodo

This is why you never leave your dinos alone on passive, if you leave a tamed titanosaur on passive next to a wild dilo, the dilo would eventually kill the titanosaur, so always leave them on neutral

How are u supposed to take any dinosaurs in this game when the taming percent stays at zero???? Is the taming process different on ps4 or what???

2. Kill dodos or other easy to kill things

3. Find a dilo or two

4. If it's 2 kill one and knock out 1

5. Put meat in inventory

Ok, so dilos aren’t a big threat for good players, but when your at a low level, there a pain in the butt. If you dodge their venom there really easy to beat. They don’t attack very fast, but there still dangerous if they get you with there venom. Luckily, you can craft a antidote for their venom.

These are a great early tame!

1. Get meat.

2. Knock out using club or fist.

3. Feed meat.

4. Enjoy your dilo!
