This is a super strong dino, Much like a Rex in terms of stats and stat increase per level. Giga bite on official with 660melee does over 1800 damage. I have used one of these to kill mosa, plesi swarms, tuso and alpha tuso.

It has excellent utility as you can use weapons when riding this dino, Both on land and underwater, it is much slower on land but about on par with the Rex walk speed when sprinting, perhaps a little faster.

They also have pretty good weight too making it ideal companion game when farming with an angler ect.

This beast can also turn on a dime with a speed that puts most reining horses to shame, The tail gives a decent amount of knock back too.

Using a breeding pair of these (mutton tamed) with 70 arm saddles levelled to almost 700md with 15.3k hp to get to wave 5 on an alpha element node on extinction, if you bring a daedon you’ll be laughing 🫡 Fox

They're extremely useful for taming, because they're roughly as tough as a rex yet you can actually shoot while riding them.

Only problem is they're not very fast on land, so if something runs you're not keeping up.

Is anyone gonna talk about how if you have them imprinted with saddles the boss fight on the center only takes about a minute?

You can use metal billboards to trap this creature. Then leave to de aggro this beast and return with your best taming food on the taming hotbar.

Tried quetz pick up and had no luck.

Use ghillie armor, superior kibble or better. Put kibble on last slot. Clear area of other creatures so it won’t disturb your taming or lure it someplace else for taming.

1. Wait for it to bask, takes like around 10 seconds or more to open its jaws.

2. When basking walk up to its mouth and feed it the kibble

3. Ghillie will keep you hidden when you feed deino so it won’t chase you.

4. Rinse and repeat till tame

Growth calculator is a bit messed up at the moment. 4hrs 16min (250min) to get to 10% on 2x (official), not 2.5hrs.

This is exactly how I tamed the deino being a new ish player : used a ptero and Lured 2 deinos towards me (they aggro on almost anything that breathes with ended up one of them chasing a icthyornis far away) then hover above it waiting for it to start basking. When it open it's mouth, walk towards it feed your taming food and get the hell away. Repeat till u have a lil croccy boi :)

Not sure if it’s a bug but I’ve found 2 in the Snow Dome in extinction in the pond towards the west side.

Use the net gun I've found it to work when I hade a pc

Great creature to tank damage while you saddled up on it. You can shoot from its saddle.

Survivor needs to be level 70 to tame.

They're a pretty simple tame. While wearing ghillie you just wait for it to stop and open its mouth, run up and feed it (I used extraordinary kibble) then run away as fast as possible. Flying tame recommended to be nearby for easy escape. Using cactus broth would be a good shout for avoiding agro. They lose agro pretty quickly when you get far enough away.

If you're looking to tame on on official 1x rates it should take around 15 kibble to tame and they take superior kibble as the preferred foods, Also a consistent spawn would be in the caves by the stone heinge location of the map.

How to tame a Deinosuchus:

Find one (Beaches, Rivers, Swamps, I found mine on the beach in the southeast corner)

If it is in water, lure it out by aggroing it onto you) repeat this every time it goes into water

Wait until it opens it’s jaw, run up to it with kibble or meat and press „E“ to put it in its jaw. Instantly after pressing E, turn and run away, since it’s jaw will slam shut and it wakes up. Repeat this process until it’s tamed.

Leftclick: Regular Bite

Rightclick (Hold until 100% charged): Giga Bite, deals A TON of damage and has a short cooldown

C: Tail swing deals A TON of knockback

Hold Space: Makes it turn into the direction you are looking at

Use superior kibble and ghillie. When you find one you want to tame, make sure everything around it is dead (other deinosuchus can be left, but it’s more dangerous if they are left). Put on ghillie and watch until it lays down, body straight, and opens its mouth. Sprint to its mouth (directly to its mouth) and feed it, then sprint away. In full ghillie it won’t notice you for a few seconds as you sprint toward it or away before and after feeding. Once away, crouch and watch it, it’ll move a few meters and walk a little bit before laying down and basking. Rinse and repeat until tamed. If something it can kill is nearby it will aggro and attack it. Do not be afraid of it closing its mouth after you feed it, it’s can’t deal damage. It’s a really easy tame. It’s stronger than a Rex and has no oxygen.

If the tail glitches underground walk down the tail and you will go under the map

The tailwhip is able to damage all types of structures. It won't give a hit marker but they can destroy tek.

The tip of the nose has a pretty big damage reduction so you can kinda soak with it lol
