Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a deinonychus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a deinonychus.
Literally just lure them off a cliff and you can get the all the eggs you want with no stress
Just wanted to say thank you to the person who commented about where to find their eggs etc (white cliffs area valguero) I just found 9!! Thanks so much for the help. to anyone looking make sure to check up high too. There's also a spot where they seem to respawn quicker. good luck
Use a crystal wyvern to take the eggs very quickly I got 12 eggs in 15 minutes with a wyv
My partner and I took our flyers and while one distracted the group by the nest the other collected eggs. No kill no muss no fuss. To hatch just build a fireplace and place eggs near. This was very successfulI in that we had six hatch within 30 game minutes.
I have noticed that unlike wyverns and rock drakes deins won’t come after you when you steal their eggs. They will only attack if you get close.
If there’s a nest on a cliff on fjordor then lead them off the cliff and grab the egg
Use a oviraptor or whatever it is called and a pt pick up the oviraptor and let the oviraptor take the egg the oviraptor will take the egg without Dino’s knowing
My brother was nervous when he was about to tame one but he went in with a parasaur distracting them and took one from the nest and ran like the wind named it Robin
Let wild kangaroos lire them away then swoop in to grab the eggs
Hi guys
Here is a little tip from me. Take a Pteranodon and fly to a Deino nest. When u found the right one then u look after the Deinoychus parents. When they are not in range fly to the nest and grab the egg. When they are in range then fly near to the parents and wait until they are agro on you. Fly away go fast to the nest grab the egg and fly back off. Now u must bring the egg in an area with 5 to 6 air conditioners.
With this method I have grabt in an half hour more then 10 eggs
Up when u love Deinonychus like me
Guys the best thing to do is get a flyer and use a whip to get your egg 🥚
welcome to my one million paragraph tip abt how to get a deinonychus
warning it is very detailed and will take u 500 years to read /hj
don’t try knocking these guys out bc 1. u can’t access their inventory (if wild) and 2. u can’t tame them that way anyways.
how u actually “tame” them is u have to steal their eggs. in fjordur they r slightly rare but r all over the broken meadows, and in valguero they r in the chalk hills and anywhere near there except beaches (and they r a LOT more common).
theres nest spawns in some location with hard to see eggs in them but their red glow gives them away. incase u have never seen the eggs before, they r mostly a dark blue with grayish green spots on them.
i recommend using a flyer but using a land mount or even being on foot is actually pretty possible (but u need to have a lot of movement speed bc they r super fast). ive only used a flyer before so ill only explain the flyer part.
if ur early game a pteranodon should prob be the easiest. otherwise a argy or wyvern should be good bc argies can pick up the deinonychus and wyverns r pretty tanky and deal a lot of damage. for me, i usually find the deinonychus gang somewhere else so i just scoop in with a ptera and fly away. if the deinonychus gang is at the nest leading them away is prob the best option bc there might be a high level which means better egg. but if u cant for some reason, or theres too many low levels or levels u dont want then u should kill them. but do remember they have a bleed attack and can latch onto ur dino
hatching the almighty chicken is very similar to a wyvern. i believe they even have the same temperature requirements. 9-12 standing torches or campfires should be enough (depending on where u r). if ur using dimetrodons then i think 1 or 2 can incubate it as long as they have high melee. as for air conditioners, i actually don’t know
and raising them is basically the same as any other carnivore. their saddle unlocks around level 25, so they r the perfect starter tame. and enjoy ur aggressive chicken
So these guys are not a knock out game you have to find the nests which are in white cliffs in valguero. I went and used an Argentavis to fly down to he nest and got the egg and quickly left I did this to multiple nests in one run not to difficult.
#1. Ride your flying mount and scout for deinos nests at chalk zone biome.
#2. Stop at high ground and wait for the parent deinos to chase something away from nest. Or use your Argentavis to carry and drop nearby Ankylo or Doedicurus as a bait to distract the guarding deinos. (Be smart! Wait for the perfect opportunity to do step #3)
#3. Approach the egg using your flying mount quickly!
#4. Jump out near the egg -> TAKE THE EGG QUICKLY -> jump in and fly away ASAP! (This must be done in less than 5sec!)
#5. Make a 4x4 thatch/any foundation with closed wall, roof and a door entrance.
#6. Place 10 standing torches inside. (Add more if the egg says "too cold")
#7. Drop the egg/s then light up the torches.
#8. Wait for the incubation to reach 0%.
*These steps are meant for beginners or first timers on snatching and hatching Deinonychus egg @ VALGUERO map. Good luck!
You a 2x2 square filled with campfires each campfire will need about 70 wood then place your deinonychus eggs in the middle I hope this helps
If you have a pt just lure them away and quickly get the egg it’s really easy
Can someone make a tip about how many torches you need to hatch it?
People are giving conplicated advice all you need to do is go with a flyer and snatch an egg that doesn't have then around if there is alot around grab anything like an Anky and use it as bait
The best way to get their eggs is the sneak up on them while they’re attacking other dinosaurs and killing them as quickly as possible with a gun or any other utility that you have if that doesn’t work try to sneak in cause they’ll be too busy attacking dinosaurs
If you have a pteranadon, simply fly low to the ground to bait them away and then sprint fly and barrel roll back once they are far enough away. Very solid method, makes egg collecting very fast and relatively safe.
