Hello been playing for about a month now, looking at all types of beginner tip. I see a lot of people coming up with simple or very technical options to get this egg. 1st off, I don't have an Argy(yet) still using Bella the Ptera 2nd I searched almost 2hrs looking for Deinon packs(bc I didn't kno where Chalk Hills was or the area in general) I found them in this valley that's very hard to find. Didn't drop any small animals or anything hard.
1. Just flew close waiting for them to leave
2. Dropped right next to nest
3. Pick up egg. Gtfo.
These eggs weighed 6.0 & bc I'm using Ptera (& drops kept coming in...(idc keeping flamethrower) I only made off w/ 5. But yea. Kinda simple? Patience was key bc I don't fly around the dark areas (it's actually scary as fk. Period XD) HOPE THIS HELPS -Date:June 6, 2022-
If able use the tel armor and just use the hover function staying out of reach but close enough to follow it when it runs
I just used a high level wyvern killed them jump off take the eggs
Very fast and strong nock them out whit a bat
I used my argy to kill them one by one but it has to have high health, stam, damage
Here's how I do it,
Get a PT or something and try to lead them far away from the nests or off a cliff, make sure to get hit a few times so they don't lose interest, and then look if there's more, land very cautiously looking around if there's any around, and quicky zap and grab the egg without looking at the level, fly away and then look at the level, if it's bad you can try again, or you can go home ith a 135 egg your welcome :)

Recommend getting a fjordhawk and some polymer. This works for most tames you get this way .The hawks don’t go to arrabiation[idk if I spelled that right- probably not] so if you want to get a rock Drake in the way I’m abt to share, try fjorder. So make sure the polymer (organic) is in one of your slots. Glide down to an egg of your desire (recommend using a spyglass) with your fjordhawk on your shoulder. Make sure it has tons of HP so it doesn’t die. You want to grab the egg and eat the polymer, quickly respawn at your base or wherever you’re storing eggs (if clearing out a trench, Deino nesting grounds, etc etc) The fjordhawk will bring your egg to you since you died with it in your inventory.
A great way to steel an egg on fjorder is to parachute off a cliff onto the nest then parachute off another cliff or fly away with a friend to escape . This was my first time stealing an egg
Huge tip for Valguero
Tame a high level Raptor and level up it's health tons
Find some low level Allosaurus and boomerang them out, feed them the endless ovis meat in the chalk hills and tame up.
Use them to invade a Deinonychus nest and kill them all.
Get the egg and hatch it. Now you have Deinonychus and Allosaurus.
When you have got the get and have imprinted it (after it hatched ) you can give it raw meat to eat as when it say for what it eat you can only see kibble( because there eggs are used for kibble). I hope this helps those who are confused and wonder what they eat.
Me and my friend went up the chalk cliffs at lvl 7 we died a lot but we had a mod that meant we kept all our stuff when we died, so now we are hatching two deinonychus eggs.
There used to be a glitch where this dino didn't spawn
Do knock it out it’s a egg tame
Get a pteranodon then a saddle then it’s really easy
You can use 12 torches to hatch eggs. You don't need a/c units.
A recent update messed up the temps that are needed to hatch deinonychus—I was able to get them to incubate while they were surrounded by about 20 standing torches
Go to chalk hills, knock out, tame a lymantria, and then fly around until you find a nest, swoop down, get it and fly away as fast as you can. Place fires around the egg, put 100 wood in each of the 20-30 fires, wait until it hatches. When hatches, put 40-60 meat on it, then make a feeding trough. Fill the feeding trough with raw meat completely. Place the trough near the hatches egg, so that it can reach the Dino, and wait.
Not that big a deal to get the eggs, have any flying mount and watch from above as they are always chasing something. Let them get far enough away, land and grab the egg then just leave.
PTs are too small to be pounced on so use one of them. Argies are able to be pounced on
