Taming & KO Tips

How do I tame a deinonychus? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a deinonychus.
Found nests around 45° 75° near the castle there on fjordur hope this helps
For hatching these, I recommend you use 13 - 15 standing torches. If you do not use this amount, they will be “too cold”. These guys r gods at pvp and pve and you can get soo many eggs that they will soon be disposable. I highly recommend these creatures to you and their saddles is learnt at a low level. If this helps you, please leave it a like and try get it to the top

To Raise- (on official vanilla servers)
This new guy is pretty much like a raptor. There are 4 imprints 8 hour apart from each other. The egg incubation is 5 hours (like a Wyv). The baby stage is roughly 4 hours and the baby will be a Juvy at 10% (like any normal baby). Be careful though if hatching low level guys as they eat 3 meat per sitting so they go through it fast, and if leaving overnight there is a chance of starvation. Mine was a 140 and it’s food value is 3800. We hatched them Sunday morning at 10:30am (Juvy by 2:30pm) and my final Imprint is Monday evening at 6:30. He is now an Adolecent. Saddles unlock at lvl 32. Hopefully this helps you all because we had to test it in order to get the proper information. (R.I.P Lvl 100). GoodLuck !
You a 2x2 square filled with campfires each campfire will need about 70 wood then place your deinonychus eggs in the middle I hope this helps
If you have a pt just lure them away and quickly get the egg it’s really easy
Need a Minimum of 16 torches to hatch this egg. You can not tame, must find the nest and collect egg.
I just got my first egg (level 30) and I got triplets. I used 4 stone fireplaces to keep the egg warm.
Can someone make a tip about how many torches you need to hatch it?
Deinonychus eggs can only be gotten like the rock Drake or wyverns, you just steal a fertilized egg from their nest. Normally I would use a snow owl to freeze it while my tribe mate grabs the eggs. Or you can have a gun and a dinosaur with good melee. (The gun to shoot it if it latches on your mount). And kill them and grab the eggs.
If you’re hatching these bad boys on Fjordur, be prepared to spend a lot more standing torches than you think you’ll need. The cold on Frojdur is crazy, and these guys want a LOT of heat. - KD
For people that say it’s too cold for me I needed 11-20 standing torches on the beach hope it helps updoot please
Located in the south west portion of the map on a higher plateau. You will find their nests and many adults running around. Just use a flyer since they cant fly. Once grown up they can be bred
For all I know they are only found in the white cliffs in packs. There is a set of ruins with bridges. The nests that I know of are near the bridges guarded by rock elementals as well as the new fluffy raptor
(Srry for bad english)
TAMING
So first of all you need to steal egg fron nest (i recomend flier) so if parents not near just get off recharge stamina yoink egg and fly tf outta there
INCUBATING
Once you have egg (If youre in fjouldur or really cold zone)
Disable object collition in your ark settings (main menu>General Settings>Disable collision when putting structures>Put on)
Then build a 2x2 tatch hut and place 16 standing torches in a square form leaving a space for you to put egg put 12 wood on each torch (200 Total) put egg lit all torches and wait
Congrats! you have a nice dino btw FEED HIM OFF RIGHT WHEN IT HATCHES OR IT WILL DIE (Learned the hard way)
STATS
I suggest putting stmina health, Melee and weight
But speacially weight and stamina since the two are very low
TIPS
-To climb jump towards you wanna climb then face up and press jump again wait until it latches to the wall or tree then press again
-Put it in apack of attleast 3 for pack bonus minumum level for alpha is 45
-Following Deinos CANT CLIMB
-U can use weapons when mounted on him
-Saddle on lv 32 and really cheap
Enjoy! Sincerely player that hates searching on wikis
Just take a pteradon. Come to the nest. Grab the egg and fast fly away. Easy
Use argy carrying tribemate with whip. With a little practice you will have no problems.
How to get a deinonychus:
-Deinonychus can't be tamed, and you can only get one by stealing their eggs and hatching them.
1. Tame a flyer like a pteranodon, and carry another smaller dino like a dodo.
2. Fly over the nest, and lure the deinonychus far away from the nest, then drop the dino you're carrying. You might not need a dino to carry with your flyer if there's a ciff nearby, because you can just lead the deinonychus down the cliff.
3. After you've lured away the deinonychus, you can go back to the nest and steal the eggs.
-Now you need to hatch the eggs. If you're using standing torches, I'm not exactly sure how many you need, but probably around 11-20.
-After you've hatched the egg, instantly fill up the baby deinonychus' inventory with meat.
Hope this helped!

This is the easiest way to tame:
1. Grab you a flyer (you may want one with good speed so a deinonychus can’t latch onto you while your flying away)
2. Find a deinonychus nest
3. Check and make sure there are no deinonychus around if so try to lead them away with bait (or just be a man and run really fast)
4. Land and grab the egg QUICKLY and fly away. You will have to move fast because deinonychus are territorial.
5. Get around 10-15 standing torches or 5 campfires and place them into a circular position. Then place the egg in the middle.
6. Wait 30 minutes and voila you have a baby deinonychus. They shouldn’t take to long to grow.
Yours truly— a beach bob
If you are alone, ride a pteranodon. This is because they cannot latch onto a pteranodon, but they can latch onto an argentavis. Lead the deinonychuses away from the nest and into a group of brontosauruses. Agro the brontos and make them hit the deinonychuses, and then watch carnage ensue. Rinse and repeat until the deinonychuses have all died, make sure brontos aren't agroed and then safely snatch the eggs from the nests. Using a whip is an optional choice to make things run smoother and faster. After this process, go somewhere else for a few minutes and come back to do it again. With very little practice, this can be a very effective method.
If there are no brontos in the area, use the pteranodon as a weapon. Swoop in and twirl into the deinonychuses until they die. WATCH OUT for raptors. They WILL dismount you in a heartbeat, whether they were targetting you beforehand or not. After the deinonychuses are dead, swoop in and snatch the eggs before leaving and repeating the process.
These are fairly simple to steal from. I would advise to bring Trang arrows or some Trang’s but you should be fine either way. Just crouch to the nest. Even flyers work.
