Tips & Strategies

What are tips for deinonychus? Tips and strategies for deinonychus in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
To the person asking how to use its climb on console, ah, great question, i am very edumacated in this topic. So, if it hasnt changed, if you jump towards a surface, the deino will latch on. From there, look up and jump again, and it will go up, aslong as your deino actually works, mine has been a bit bugged lately.

Stole an egg on Fjordur, was trying to position campfires and the such for awhile to get temp right. Then I remembered swamp island is hotter than the rest of locales. Flew there and in castle set up ten standing torches inside a wood building as well as a dimetrodon on each side of egg. Worked for me. Standing torches set up along one side of egg in a straight line. Hope this helps.
If you have no dinos just put everything in speed if you do getting any eggs will be easy I was able to get 5 egg in jus a few minutes
It can climb on almost any surface or Dino and has insane accuracy on players. MOVE OVER ROCK DRAKE
I saw one of these die to hyenadons so I stole its egg. I’m in fjordur with barely a bow. I tried 8 campfires and 4 standing torches it’s still to cold.
PLEASE HELP ME
I see tons is nests in vannaland south in fjordur
There are multiple strategies to stealing a deinonychus egg. 1: (solo) fly in with a pteranodon or argentavis and go low and grab the egg and fly before any grab you (this is the riskiest method but still pretty safe) 2: (solo) fly with an argent and drop a creature who can tank hits on passive farther away from the nest and then lead the deinonychus to it and grab an egg while they are distracted. 3: (2 or more people) have your other people distract the deinonychus while you grab an egg and fly away. 4: ( risky solo) run in with tons of bolas and bola all of them, grab an egg and run. 5: ( solo) build a trap, lead then into the trap, and then grab as many eggs as you want. Those are the five I normally use depending on where I am in the game to give you guys options.
Get a pteranadon and find a nest. Land on a rock near the nests that they can't reach you on, but that your pteranadon can reach them from. The pteranadon can attack things from surprisingly far away. When that are all dead, claim your eggs. If there are no rocks to do this on, literally just land, dismount, grab the egg, mount, and leave, all as fast as you can.
It is just so easy.
If you’re a beginner please don’t spawn in chalk hills zone 2
Grab the egg and peg it on a flying Dino
On Fjordur, use a pteradon to lure the Deinons off a cliff before stealing their eggs.
Really the easiest way to steal the eggs is to grab a pteranodon, and get the deinonychuses aggroed on you, and you get them to chase you either off a cliff or aggro it onto another wild dino, then take the egg. If you dont have those options you could wait till the deinos wander away from the egg or kill them yourself. (theyre pretty easy to kill with a high level pteranodon as long as its not a huge pack)
Take as long to hatch as a wyvern.
One thing that ark did right: the deinonychus egg levels reflect the levels of the deinonychus pack guarding them. The higher level eggs are harder to get, but reap better rewards
You will need a flyer if you want it easy (on fjordur I was able to get one on foot with parachutes) they can be found around the tip of the North Island in fjords and the white chalky cliffs to the south east of Valgero. They need the same heat as a wyvern so 15 campfires, indoors. After reading them they are the replacement of raptors and can jump far distances, latch, not climb, on walls, attach themselves to prey, and cause a bleeding effect. I would put points into stamina, speed, and health, maybe even carry weight and health if it is lacking in those two.
Spawn on beach zone 2 there will be a huge mountain go into there steal da egg and the RUN btw u cant tame it it will take a room and 3 air conditioners on each side and put the egg on the middle it will start taming am sure.
