There are multiple strategies to stealing a deinonychus egg. 1: (solo) fly in with a pteranodon or argentavis and go low and grab the egg and fly before any grab you (this is the riskiest method but still pretty safe) 2: (solo) fly with an argent and drop a creature who can tank hits on passive farther away from the nest and then lead the deinonychus to it and grab an egg while they are distracted. 3: (2 or more people) have your other people distract the deinonychus while you grab an egg and fly away. 4: ( risky solo) run in with tons of bolas and bola all of them, grab an egg and run. 5: ( solo) build a trap, lead then into the trap, and then grab as many eggs as you want. Those are the five I normally use depending on where I am in the game to give you guys options.
More Deinonychus Taming & KO Tips
Tame a bird and carry something as you fly over the nest to lure them away like an Ankylo. Drop the bait, then fly back to loot the nest. I got 5 eggs in 30 minutes. Please spread.
Are strong in packs, do a bleed effect and can latch onto surfaces, it is tamed by stealing its eggs and raising them, it can take 9 to 10 standing torches. Eggs are found in the whites cliffs area ONLY on the valguero map. Like if helpful
People on here are giving the most difficult tips to get the eggs. Just fly down there. Hop off when non is too close. Grab the egg. Fly away. It's as simple as that. No need for an argentavis with bait
Here's how to steal one early game: If you spawn in at chalk hills 3 and spawn next to a pond walk opposite to the pond. There are some nests right there. Snatch one quickly and run off the cliff next to the pond. Be careful and make sure to fall into the water. From there make a left and you should get to a beach area. From there it should be easy to find your base.
You can't tame these guys by knocking them out. Instead, you need to steal their fertilised eggs (just like wyverns and rock drakes), hatch them and raise them, just a bit harder than knocking them out. The eggs can, of course, be found in their nests and do be careful while trying to steal one as the Deinonychus is very territorial. Hope this helps :)
For anyone who plays like a scaredy cat so do i and I got them on valguero by leading all of the adults off a cliff with a pt and then taking the egg hope this helps
1. Tame a kangaroos 2. Have a tribe mate with a whip in the pouch 3. Quickly jump on a nest and have your tribe mate whip the egg into his inventory 4. Jump away! No one has to dismount so thereβs basically no risk
Hereβs how to tame it: first you need to find a nest, then you need to steal an egg (flyers like a pteradon most recommended) steal the egg(I would recommend luring them off a cliff and THEN stealing there eggs) then get the FRICK out of there, otherwise say goodbye to you, your egg, And your flyer. These guys have a bleed that stacks up to 5 TIMES, So after you escape, make sure to ditch that place. Then make about 15 CAMPFIRES. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT, 15 CAMPFIRES, And thatβs just an estimated amount
π₯², so then after the egg hatches. You need to stuff it with MEAT. Take care of the denoiy, then saddle it up and then your doneπ«π«π«π
Wear full ghille suit to get eggs, also its good to have a lot of health and movement speed.
Finally are on another map, near the hexagonal stone cliffs you can find these miniature allos and their nests. This map for me is currently easier to grab than valguero simply because of the amount of other dinos in the area. THANK YOU FJORDUR
