Tips & Strategies

welcome to my one million paragraph tip abt how to get a deinonychus
warning it is very detailed and will take u 500 years to read /hj
don’t try knocking these guys out bc 1. u can’t access their inventory (if wild) and 2. u can’t tame them that way anyways.
how u actually “tame” them is u have to steal their eggs. in fjordur they r slightly rare but r all over the broken meadows, and in valguero they r in the chalk hills and anywhere near there except beaches (and they r a LOT more common).
theres nest spawns in some location with hard to see eggs in them but their red glow gives them away. incase u have never seen the eggs before, they r mostly a dark blue with grayish green spots on them.
i recommend using a flyer but using a land mount or even being on foot is actually pretty possible (but u need to have a lot of movement speed bc they r super fast). ive only used a flyer before so ill only explain the flyer part.
if ur early game a pteranodon should prob be the easiest. otherwise a argy or wyvern should be good bc argies can pick up the deinonychus and wyverns r pretty tanky and deal a lot of damage. for me, i usually find the deinonychus gang somewhere else so i just scoop in with a ptera and fly away. if the deinonychus gang is at the nest leading them away is prob the best option bc there might be a high level which means better egg. but if u cant for some reason, or theres too many low levels or levels u dont want then u should kill them. but do remember they have a bleed attack and can latch onto ur dino
hatching the almighty chicken is very similar to a wyvern. i believe they even have the same temperature requirements. 9-12 standing torches or campfires should be enough (depending on where u r). if ur using dimetrodons then i think 1 or 2 can incubate it as long as they have high melee. as for air conditioners, i actually don’t know
and raising them is basically the same as any other carnivore. their saddle unlocks around level 25, so they r the perfect starter tame. and enjoy ur aggressive chicken

Tame a bird and carry something as you fly over the nest to lure them away like an Ankylo. Drop the bait, then fly back to loot the nest. I got 5 eggs in 30 minutes. Please spread.
Are strong in packs, do a bleed effect and can latch onto surfaces, it is tamed by stealing its eggs and raising them, it can take 9 to 10 standing torches. Eggs are found in the whites cliffs area ONLY on the valguero map. Like if helpful
People on here are giving the most difficult tips to get the eggs. Just fly down there. Hop off when non is too close. Grab the egg. Fly away. It's as simple as that. No need for an argentavis with bait
Here's how to steal one early game: If you spawn in at chalk hills 3 and spawn next to a pond walk opposite to the pond. There are some nests right there. Snatch one quickly and run off the cliff next to the pond. Be careful and make sure to fall into the water. From there make a left and you should get to a beach area. From there it should be easy to find your base.
1. Tame a kangaroos 2. Have a tribe mate with a whip in the pouch 3. Quickly jump on a nest and have your tribe mate whip the egg into his inventory 4. Jump away! No one has to dismount so there’s basically no risk
You can't tame these guys by knocking them out. Instead, you need to steal their fertilised eggs (just like wyverns and rock drakes), hatch them and raise them, just a bit harder than knocking them out. The eggs can, of course, be found in their nests and do be careful while trying to steal one as the Deinonychus is very territorial. Hope this helps :)
Wear full ghille suit to get eggs, also its good to have a lot of health and movement speed.
Finally are on another map, near the hexagonal stone cliffs you can find these miniature allos and their nests. This map for me is currently easier to grab than valguero simply because of the amount of other dinos in the area. THANK YOU FJORDUR
Easily stole an egg by swooping down and parking next to a nest with my pteranodon while the adults were busy chasing herbivores. Grabbed the egg and flew out of there, it’s as simple as that.
I just waited for them to go after other Dino’s and stole their eggs
