These guys are beasts in packs. If you are unlucky enough to se attacked by a group of four or more and you don’t have a shotgun you are as good as gone. When you are trying to go for eggs do whatever you must to avoid the packs.

You can bola these bad boys after you git the egg, then RUN you got around 20 secs before they come after you....

Babies can hatch inside the nest before you steal one! Babies also have a chance of pinning you down and attacking you if they are still wild/unclaimed.

They grapple so watch out and make sure you’re able to get out of there as soon as possible to avoid death

These are auctally not that hard to get eggs from if you have a flyer because they are pretty much always fighting something making it very easy to steal their egg’s although I have had bad luck with finding good levels

This is 2 ways to gather eggs efficiently.

1) You need a tribe mate to help with this one and 2 fliers. I would use some decent argy’s with stamina and health. Your tribe mate will fly over the nest low to the floor and agro the deinonychus and fly away slowly. They will keep the agro and leave the nest but try not to get hit their bleed does 10% of your health. Once clear you will fly down grab the eggs and fly away while informing your tribe mate that they can loose agro.

2) This one is a bit more difficult but it’s good for when you’re solo. You need a good flier who can carry a tanky dino. For the flier I would use an argy and the tank would be an anky. You fly over the nest and gather the agro and then fly away while carrying your tank. You lead the deinonychus away and drop the tank so they start eating it. You then quickly fly back to the nest to get the egg and fly away. If your tank is still alive you can try pick it up but be careful if your hot they do 10% of your health. Your tank should have some decent health to give you time as when it dies the deinonychus will return to the nest to kill you in short time.

Tame a high level Raptor or something small in size so they can’t latch on to you, kill the group and raid the nests. Unlike Wyverns, looting the egg doesn’t spawn more and force aggro onto you, so it’s probably the easiest tame in the entire game with a single decent level dinosaur

Getting eggs for these on Valguero super easy for low levels:

Step 1: spawn in the chalk hills area near the end of the lake and there should be an abundance of lymantria

Step 2: speed run a lymantria saddle and then easily tame a lymantria with a bola and a bow(no crossbow needed)

Step 3: distract the deinonychus when you find a nest, lure them away and use the fart attack on lymantria, quickly hurry back to the nest and steal the egg, you must be very quick, even though the Lymantria can slow down the deinonychus

Step 4: hatch all the eggs, use about 15 standing torches lined up like this in rows of 5: _

Step 5: breed these for health, stamina, weight, and melee as these are the most important stats for deinonychus

Step 6: make packs of 5 and go kill pretty much anything with them, they can easily kill tamed gigas if mutated and they are also great as an all-around mount for PVE and PVP, they are insanely fast travelers, can be boss killers, are are overall super useful because of their fall damage negation, high attack, bleed damage, fast speed, charge jump, and somewhat of a climb ability.

On Valguero and Fjördur only, unless you change the Server Settings to make them spawn on other maps aswell. If you meet a deino in the wild and you don't have a good tame, you should start running. They can latch on bigger prey like Rexes or Brontos, on cliffs and other surfaces, but they can't walk in that state, however you can jump up the surface to overcome any obstacle. Those beasts are able to stack a “bleed“ effect on anything they attack, it stacks up to 5. You should skill them on health and damage, that way they will just shred everything, even alphas and bosses.

If you see a wild deino, there should be a Nest with one Egg nearby... just snatch it, but beware of the great deino Dynasty, they well come to get your Soul.

It is adviced to lure them away before you grab their precious Eggs. Good Luck.

When hatching them, MAKE SURE TO IMPRINT THEM! I have multiple Deinonychus and normal imprinting rates and they all come out with super high speed and damage. They’re fantastic, if you upgrade weight you can do endless things!

DO NOT TAME THESE WITH LOW LVL FLYERS my ice wyvern (10) died REALLY fast to a lvl 61 deinonychus tame them with quetzal also make sure

They are not focused on you I recommend having 2 players one distracts and one steals I got 3 in 10 min with this

I found 3 nests on fjordur at 43 71

I wanted to get one on fjordur, so I went to the middle-ish nest spot of the area (around 75, 50) with my argy, Valkyrie. Supper scared till I saw a gigantic Rex murdering the deinonychus at the nests. I just hopped off of my bird and grabbed an 105 egg 😂 no one even noticed! Easiest grab ever.

Yo any ideas on where to find nests on fjord cause these guys are there as well

THE best mount for boss fights.

Get some redesign and tanks/meat shields, and gur under the bosses to shred and do astronomical amounts of damage thanks to their 5% per sec bleed damage

BELIEVE IT OR NOT ITS NOT JUST FOUND IN THE WHITE CLIFFS! FOUND SOME IN A FOREST AT THE SIDE OF THE MAP SOMEWHERE ON A CLIFF.

If you raise 10-15 deinonychus your can solo suicide run alpha dragon in val. Just ride a low level yuti or deaodon. We used 10 and they solo killed the dragon with bleed damage and we used rhinos to kill the other boses. 👌

You cannot tame them, only hatch them. Found ONLY on Valguero map i white chalk cliffs. Rhey can latch onto surfaces. Not like thylacalyo. They have special bleed ability that causes target to lose 5% of healt in five seconds. If this was useful like. This is my first tip. By, and peace

To steal a deinonychus egg in valgeuro, you can do it very early by starting in the chalk cliffs and then making a crap tin if bolas to bola all the deinons so you can easily grab an egg or two and run. From there deinonychus are very good at bringing down small to mid sized theropods as well as traversing around the cliff environment.

Put all your stuff in a storage box. Run into the white cliffs find a nest with no deinonychus nearby (or just distracted) grab the egg and run to your base. Easy first tame.
