Tamed casteroids are one of the best wood getters. The most effective way is to hold it with a argy and go flying in a forest. The casteroid will get wood by itself. They can also be used as a better smithy if u pump their weight bc there is no slot limit so u can fit more stuff in it. It is also mobile which is great bc u can't pick up vanilla ark smithys in addition they also lower the weight of wood in their inventory making able to carry more. Also in the wild they are neutral unless u raid their damns which are great for getting rare flowers, cementing paste, silica pearls, and wood in which case they will attack u.

These things are the absolute BEST at getting wood!!

u need the saddle to gather wood with it, or u can just kill him and raid his dams

I put them to sleep and steal dam stuff.

Then they will restore if after a bit of time. Also if you set them to wander after taming will make dams again.

Forget Triceratops this is the best Narcoberry collector.

They should have a tlc that allows you to turn it into a dam, like the giant bees.

these are good to find you can get some good tames and get some good loot from there dams

Anyone else think that the beavers saddle should be a lower level?

I bet you didn’t know this, You can ride these! You unlock the saddle at level 61.

TIPP: (Wood generator)

As you know the Castoroides is one of the best wood collector and there is one interessting fact about him. He collects wood if a tree is in Front of him. But not like a doedicurus, the doedicurus surches for Stones to destroy them. The castoroides just collects the wood if it is in Front of him.

So I had an idea, what uf I place him right in Front of a tree so he instanly collects the wood when it spawns and it worked. Everytime I look inside his Inventar he has about 600 wood.

This how I raid beaver dams in ark:

First you should get a trex or some other tall, aggressive Dino. You will need them to hop on and escape or to kill the angered beavers. I recommend taking the cementing paste, peals , flowers and mushrooms first, depositing them in a chest then getting the wood. Since wood is heavy, drop it after picking it up. Once all items are taken from the dam it will break and the beavers will build a new one.

For the breeding my castoroide is at 11.6 pregnancy, dododex is saying it'll take 7 hours but ark is saying it will only take 40 minutes untill the baby is born

When not tamed they create bever dam you can find from 230 to 360 cementing paste an 20 rare flower and mushroom

I have a tamed beaver but he won’t harvest wood or thatch? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!

These are great sources of silica pearl.... I got 53 from 1 dam.... Don't take everything left some wood so the dam doesn't breaks... U won't be attacked and u will have lots of silica pearls and cementing paste... Like if it helped

If you want wood, just tame a sarco and raid dams, dont waste engrams and time on him

befor you craft a tek replicator just for a tek saddle dont they will craft on just as well

I saw a tip that claimed you can carry the wild beaver and drop it into waters near you and it will make dams there.. if that is true that’s one nword of a tip. It goes hand-in-hand with one method that I use with the beaver.

I load up a rifle with regular tranq darts. I knocked the beavers out while they’re in deep waters so that they’re insulated and protected by the water so no other creatures go and murder them…. Then I raid the dams.. It works really well… I’ve just been too lazy to build a stone box around the knocked out Beaver..

But if you can carry a wild beaver to your water hole, knock him out, build a stone isolation pen for him…. You’re set… in theory.. at least in PVE.
